If I were Pittsburgh, I know who I'd keep when the cap crunch comes, and his name ain't Sidney.

Crosby is a leader Malkin is an individual talent...Crosby hands down...

It amases me how people have a hate on for one of the best players in the Games...

We see the malkins and seamans and ovchekins bitching at the refss game in and game out but their not scrutinized near as much as Crosby because they don't have an impact on our country the way Crosby does.

We seen what Malkin and Ochekin can do under pressure in the juniors...A russian team that was supposed to win gold..with two of the best players in the world in Malkin and Ovechkin....Until the big game was about winning and not just show casing your talent...Two players one Crosby and Bergeron shut down the two great russian and led their tteam to gold medal..

I would take Crosby anytime or over anyone in the game...He is not only a great player he plays to win at all cost not just to look pretty..

Isn't it funny that when you put a heavyweight in the line-up, Montreal's forwards show up to play.

This in no co-incidence.

Captain Bob has finally figured out that his skilled forwards need protection.

Begin, Laps, and Tommy K are great energy players, but they aren't heavyweights.

Henry's presence in the line-up immediately nuetralizes Godard as an intimidation factor, allowing our skilled players to play their game.

If the improvement is SO noticeable with one tough guy, why stop there.

When Laraque returns, I'd keep Henry up so we have a pair of hammerheads.

Then send Henry back down when we acquire Chris Neil and Alexandre Burrows at the deadline.

With Henry back in Hamilton this might suggest Laraque is ready to come back Friday or Saturday. I hope he was watching Henry establish a presents, and not go back to sending out a RSVP.

I think our team played bigger and much faster after the fight with Goddard. That's what Laraque was supposed to be doing, not asking if the other team’s intimidator wants to have a go, and if they say no, go away. “ just do it !!!” and do it early.

Hope Laraque is back for Saturday and Toronto. I think Buffalo is built more on speed than intimidation so don’t rush.

very nice game- much needed win.

Props go to Higgy, Hammer- nice game for Pleks, good job by Henry saying "we ain't pushovers", many others played solid games - Lapierre looked good again - Kovy can still play a lot better - watch Malkin out there, the energy, the effort - Kovy can do at least 80% of that but looked more like 30% last few games. Keep up the momentum - and win the next 2.

I agree, that the physical presence has had some impact on the way our team played the game afterwards. Even though we lost to the Bruins, i believe the fight early in that game, did alot for our players mentally. I think the same was true vs the Pen's, of course they are not the Bruin's. I'm not saying we have to have a fight early in every game, but, if our big guy's send a message to the opposition from time to time, our guy's will be lifted.

I gotta agree with you on that one... I find Malkin the real leader n threat on that team. He reminds of a young Jagr, a strong skater with a great shot and excellent hands.

Crosby sells the merch cos he's a pretty boy and also a good ol' Canadian boy. It's been a while since we've had a Canadian kid from Ontario in the scoring race. Can't take anything away from himtonight, he played an excellent game. Thankfully for us, Price kept him off the score board. He was great on the back check and a threat on offense.

On paper Koivu looks very average, but it's his over-all play, his leadership and drive that makes him so important to this team. That was an incredibly smart move by him tonight, a very smart hockey player. With out Saku, Higgy would've had the d up his butt and might've missed the break-a-way.

I don't know how anybody who knows hockey, can't see how valuable Saku is to this club.

alot of people dont see it man, mind blowing

We don't need to fight early in every game. Or late for that matter.

In fact, it would suit Montreal's style of play if we didn't fight at all.

But if the other team tries to play the intimidation game, we have to be able to counter that tactic.

Laraque and Henry counter that tactic very nicely.

great game by the habs. price, hammer, obyrne , saku and pretty much everyone on the team played well. henry should stay with us when laraque gets back. we need toughness and alot of it. also i find it always helps to hav a player that can play forward and defence. sry but i would keep him over dandy.

also has anyone noticed how are bull dogs has such a tough team. Flinn, glumac, other young gritty players and if i know gainey henry will be back soon. these players should be in montreal ajusting to the nhl speed so the can be used in the playoffs. im not saying play them the rest of the season but give them a few games so we no they can do something when we play boston or philly. anyways im geting off topic.

GO HABS GO

SAKU ROCKS

great win! It was a full team effort

Amazing what happens when your all on the same page, showing effort and willing to win battles for the puck.

When your goalie can see his team is trying to win the game, all 60 minutes and not quiting, your goalie tends to help ,i feel he gets more motivation & more confidence in his game.

Good game habs, now to follow that up next game. :D

well i wouldnt say all is well but it was a positive tonight

Let's hope they can carry over this positive win into the next game. :D
