hockey_gal89
We had this thread last year and I don't recall seeing one this season so here I go...I'm going by http://nhlnumbers.com/ for info...My 2009-2010 Habs would look something like this: Draft day deal: To T-Bay: Tomas Plekanec, Chris Higgins, Jaroslav Halak, David Fisher, 1st rnd 09, 1st rnd '10 To MTL: Vinny Lecavalier, Adam hall Forwards Vincent Lecavalier-10-mil Saku Koivu-resign, 2 years, cap hit per year: 5-mil Andrei Kostitsyn-3.25-mil Guillaume Latendresse-resign, 2 years, cap hit per year: 1.7 mil Matt D'Agostini-resign, 3 years, cap hit per year, 1.6 mil Georges Laraque-1.5-mil Kyle Chipchura-resign, 2 years, cap hit per year, 1.2 mil Tom Kostopoulos-resign, 2 years, cap hit per year: 900-k Max Pacioretty- 875-k Ben Maxwell-850-K Sergei Kostitsyn-817-k Maxim Lapierre-688-k Gregory Stewart-625-K Adam Hall-600-k Defense Andrei Markov-5.75 mil Roman Hamrlik-5.5 mil Mike Komisarek-resign, 4 years, cap hit per year: 4-mil Josh Gorges-1.1-mil Mathieu Carle-850-k Ryan O-Byrne-815-k Alex Henry-resign, 1 year, 500-k Goalies Carey Price-2.2-mil Marc Denis, resign, 1 year, 600-K Lines A. Kostitsyn, Lecavalier, S.Kostitsyn pacioretty, Koivu, d'Agostini Latendresse, Lapierre, Kostopoulos Stewart/Hall, Chipchura/Maxwell, Laraque Markov, Komisarek Hamrlik, Carle Gorges, O'Byrne/Henry Price Denis The rules are simple you can trade for players nad sign UFA's, but you got to stay under the cap as it exists right now at 56-mil...I kept my team pretty basic, because I wanted to give the young guys a shot...Play around and Have fun
SteenIsThaFuture
FYI the cap will be around 55 mil next year as some NHL economists have projected.

RicochetII
Not bad, somehow you always get Bouwmeester in the mix though I only added him because I had too much money left over. I'm not one of the big on Bouwmeester people. My original lineup didn't have him or Kovalev. I was sitting pretty with a team I had confidence in and $16M under the cap. I didn't take any other factors than the cap into account. It didn't matter to me who I could trade or if the other team thought it was a good deal. I laugh at your puny NTC's. Hahahahaha! Smolinksi's NTC didn't do much to stop us from moving him. Not that we moved him, so much as we dropped him like a bad habit. I find it interesting that everyone would trade Halak and sign a true backup next season.

obieshabs
So, trade Latendresse, Chipchura and a pick @ the draft for a guy who will be a FA a week later, not to mention I'd bring Kevin Haller outta retirement before I'd pay Bergeron 3.5 Million a year. And the day Maxwell, O'byrne and a pick get us Patrick Berglund from St.Louis is the day the Blues hire Rejean Houle as GM.

ChiLla
Why? Hes been declining steadily for years now since the 05-06 year. Agreed, he's been a force out there and scored on us in bunches when we used to play Carolina. However, he doesn't seem to be the same player after the serious neck injury. Carolina traded him for a reason and he's not doing extremely well in Edmonton either. At a reasonable price I'd give it a thought but he shouldn't be a top-priority.
