Therrien Fired

Recommended Posts

Well, Therrien got fired (it's about time), though the Pens still lost to the Islanders today...HA, the Islanders...

Pens are REALLY on a slump right now....do you really think it was Therriens fault though? I dunno if it was or not, but they lost to the ISLANDERS!

We play Pittsburgh this week; we'd better not lose, or else I'll be quite embarassed....especially if it's by more than one goal..

But no, what am I t alking about? With Schneider now, and hopefully some more confidence, (we'll have lots of confidence if we could pull of a win over Washington), then we'll defeat Pittsburgh.

It's quite the big game actually, because Pittsburgh is not too far behind us...

And does anyone else know who Bylsma used to coach?

He coached the Pens AHL team, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, he also played 9 NHL seasons, with LA and Anahiem, ending in 2004.

And played in the Stanley Cup Final with Anahiem in 2003.

PS...He also is probably one of the few NHL coaches to actually drop the gloves with Brendan Shannahan....hahaha

Not sure if I agree with that.

I would probably give my coach two scoring lines to work with before blaming him for the team's poor performance.

I guess that's just my own backwards way of thinking. :P

+1

Just wait until next year when they have $22m tied up in their top 3 centres & another $18m in 3 dmen & a goalie. That should leave $10m for the other 14-15 players. Ouch.

That's what happens when you've got a GM that trades half of his team for Hossa and invest all his money in 2 forwards. They probably are the best 2 forwards but I'd much rather have 4-5 good forwards and make the playoffs then 2 best forwards and not make it.

Yep, this is the entire situation. Well put.

They should've traded Malkin before they fired "Mike". Give him a better team to work with.

Might be a trend that Bob should consider.
