Habs-Fan
Reminds me of Mike Keane. Tough as nails grinder who never quits. Great add on.
Larry-Robinson
This is why I never understand why some of the fans who come in here and say what the hell was Gainey thinking when he picked up Metropolit or is this the best he could do. Now we start to appreciate him more after watching for a few games, when we see his work ethic and how he is always hustling. This is why when Gainey and Co. make moves, just because we don't like it doesn't mean that it's automatically bad. Metropolit is a hard working centre, he has to be or he never would have lasted this long in the league. He will finish the season with us but I don't see him returning if Gainey tries to either aquire a bigger Centre through a trade or via UFA. The only way Metropolit stays is if we trade away one of our centres or we don't resign a Koivu, which I highly doubt we we let Koivu walk. swimmerpuck
One key play I remember Metropolit making was to be sure the puck made it deep enough into the Tampa Bay zone. It was the second period and although I forget the exact sequence, the Habs needed a line change desperately and he made the smart play to get it done. JoshGorgesFan
Yes, I remember that! I like this guy more and more every game...he's a good gritty guy, a good centreman, and every game he seems to make some nice interceptions and takeaways....this guy doesn't give up! Like you said wheresthepuck, he can get it done. He's a good fit with Dandy! Hope he can stay with the team next year, but if he doesn't..oh well I guess. Whatever's best for the future of the team! RedLightRonan
He's no superstar scorer, but Metropolit is going to be absolutely vital come playoff time, when you have to shut down the other team's top line. Good pickup by Bob, considering we 1) Got him for free 2) Robbed Philly of a good defensive centre (I'm betting that at least one of Richards, Carter, Gagne, or Briere disappears in the playoffs, and then what do they do? They have no defense and no goaltending, Biron vs Montreal notwithstanding)
brazinrasin
Not only did Bob acquire a valuable player in Metro, he also acquired a reasonable contract. We're on the hook for $1 million with him next season. This is the type of money (albeit the high end) that our 4th liners should be making. I don't want to see Bob allocating 1.3-1.9 million dollar contracts for our pluggers because it's got us in trouble both in the past and in the present. mchabbymeal
Anybody think that..."Subway" might be a good nickname for Metropolit....???? Ew, gross. Subway. Whenever he'd score, the announcer would "IT'S SUBWAY. EAT FRESH." or "HE MISSED THE SUBWAY BY A FEW SECONDS" or "WHAT'S THAT BARRELING AT YOU DOWN THE TRACKS? IT'S THE SUBWAY." ....hahaha....how bout a compromise...... lets call him " Jared " ......haha,

Remember that Glen is signed (at a very reasonable $1m) through next season, so I actually feel the opposite: i think it will be very unlikely he doesnt return, regardless of what happens with the other free agents. habs-24
works like a dog out there, and usually solid in the circle... i have been pleased with the guy since he got here
AvtomatKos-yn
This guy has some serious stick handling skills and awareness. He could def. be a solid 3rd liner, and it's my opinion that he's easily better than Kosto. Also, he fought and kicked buttocks? Well, hello there Mr. Metropolit! fourtrax
Good night, although I don't know what he was thinking dragging the puck to his left and straight into two Islanders when he had a clear lane to the goal and time to pick the corner. I guess that's why he's not a goalscorer.

QbGamer
most checking centers arent goal scorers. That being said, this guy is great Great hand, great at faceoffs, overall tough guy, makes good decisions. too bad he wasnt a bit bigger, im sure he would have bee all that much better with another 6"
