GreekHockeyCoach
Edmonton Oilers vs Montreal Canadiens Projected lines for the Habs: Kostitsyn - Koivu - Tanguay Kovalev - Plekanec - D'Agostini Higgins - Lapierre - Kostopoulos Stewart - Metropolit - Dandenault Markov-Komi Schneider-Gorges Hammer-O'byrnes Good luck to Gainey and the Habs tonight. My apologies once again, I'm at work and I don't have time to create a fancy gameday thread. The person that was signed up to create it hasn't shown up yet. Flunky
Very excited to see Captain Bob behind the bench again. No more excuses for lacklustre play or questionable strategy. The scapegoat has been removed, so now it's all on the players to perform. Hopin' for a Stewie-Stortini encounter. GO HABS GO!

Jason-Lorette
I'm a little puzzled by the scratching of Patches over D'ags...Patches though, is rapidly becoming a favorite of mine. Any word on what goalie is playing?

Nightwind
I'm a little puzzled by the scratching of Patches over D'ags...Patches though, is rapidly becoming a favorite of mine. I think Patches has been saying that he was tired from playing for so many games, so my guess is Bob is just giving him the night off rather than it being any sort of punishment. ColRouleBleu
I remember how psyched I was last year before Gainey's jersey retirement night, I thought that the boys would give their all for their boss' special night. We all remember how 'well' this turned out OK OK, different year, different game, the planets are not aligned the same way, they WILL want to play for the boss tonight ... yep, that's it, they will
BarbraT
will be interesting to see if we come out flying and see a more determined Habs club.

I like the lines much better Tanguay on RW, he plays better there. AK46 on LW, he missed 3 open nets playing RW. Kovalev playing LW might work, Pleks and D'ags have speed. and Hammer moved to 3rd pairing and Schneider a natural left hand shot playing LD. I like the change except for Dandenault, would prefer Chipchura playing that line. I'm guessing the reason is it could be a more rough and tumble game and Dandy has a slight edge. We all remember how 'well' this turned out OK OK, different year, different game, the planets are not aligned the same way, they WILL want to play for the boss tonight ... yep, that's it, they will that's the danger... if the players considered Carbonneau a millstone around their collective necks, will they think they can come out and play the same "(not) emotionally engaged" way and the results will be different just because there's a different coach behind the bench... "I would like to see our goaltenders protected better. I'd like to see our team play better defensively. Goaltending is one of our strengths. It's not acceptable to me that other teams have double the number of scoring chances that we have against them. That's one of the areas we'll be concentrating on. A change in attitude. A change of tactics. A change in results. It's to give our goalies and defense the opportunity to play games where the play in less in our own end." -- Bob Gainey let's hope so...
