Hopefully the odd-man rushes will be few and far between since Breezer will be well-rested. Generally, he plays well in spot duty. It's when we start asking him to play strings of consecutive games that he starts to decline due to age. It's not so much Breezer being in I mind as Komisarek remaining in while O'Byrne sits out. Jersey is a team that feasts on pressuring defensemen into mistakes, and once they have a lead, it's damn hard to get back into the game.

oh if they get up 1-0 its over, lights out

anyone know the lines for tonights game? I'm hoping to see Pacs w/ Plecs and Kovy. Send the big man to stand in Martys way and see what magic the other 2 can come up with. I assume from the rest of the thread that Halak has the nod tonight? GOOD! hopefuly the prolonged rest didn't cool him off too badly. Can't afford to lose now, need ot separate ourselves from the pack, and see fi we can't wrestle home ice from the Flyers.

i want to win so badly tonight, its ridiculous.

and so should the 19 dressed players wearing the CH

Hate me if you want, but if we lose this one in OT so SO, I won't even be mad : Brodeur gets the tie-record win, but we still get a point. How are we going to get even a point againts the Devils, I have no idea, but we'll see if the guys can somehow wake up...

we need the 2pts nothing less

We'll see what kind of balls this team has.

Is kovy in the lineup tonight

According to the Habs Notebook, "Kovy still catchy: After sitting out Thursday night’s loss to the Islanders, Alex Kovalev was also missing in action at practice on Friday. Still considered to be contagious by team doctors, Kovalev wasn’t the only absentee with Tom Kostopoulos not skating for what was deemed a therapy day for the rugged winger".

So Kovy is apparently ill and TK was not at practice yesterday and was in therapy. However, Latendresse has been given the green light to play tonight.

If I were the Habs my game plan would include:

1. Coming out hard and fast and thrying to score 1 or 2 very quickly putting NJ on their heels.

2. Have Lapierre or Stewart crash the net once or twice and get Marty to lose his focus.

and lastly

3. Don't give NJ odd man rushes, they're killer with their cross ice passes.

Lets hope Stewart can pull an Avery on brodeur.

this is a statement game for us, it will show how serious we are about protecting our turf with brodeur trying to take it over

we are wearing our 1946 jerseys and of course the potential is there for us to be embarrassed in those if we arent ready

We look like clowns in them. Nothing is funnier than seeing clowns getting the crap kicked out of them.

Excellent Gameday Thread GHC, and to think you had such short notice too, that's impressive. I'm still working on my March 24th gdt myself. :P

I'm pretty sure the Habs will kill tonight, passes will stick to the sticks, skates will fly and goals will find a way in. Why, you say?

Well, because I have a cocktail to attend, I can't watch the game on tv, and that's how they play everytime I miss a game, just to pi** me off.

We play like your step number 1 all the time. After that it's pray we get out of the 2nd period alive. And then it's scratching and clawing to make up lost time and effort.

Yes Tender was given the green light but Gainey wasnt sure if he was gonna put him on the lineup. Kosto was at practice today, Kovy skated for 10 minutes but left.

Figures. Tenders gets the green light and Gainey puts him in the press box.
