mtl_-lt-GoHabsGo-gt-_mtlc
This is a MUST win game. I want to see them come out flying and play some darn hockey! 5-2 Habs
gracie12
I know Ive been saying it for a while now, but its finally do or die time, imho. The last couple of games would have given us breathing room but now I think we're truly in a position where we need wins NOW. Lets hope gainey's pep talk worked. The silver lining here is that we've gone through so much adversity this season that if, miraculously, we can string some wins together, we should see our confidence come back finally (i think its higher than it was 10 games ago at least) and a habs team with momentum and confidence entering the post season would be a thing to behold. I still believe.
Hawker_mtl
lines will be : kovalev - koivu - tanguay Andrei K - plek - Sergei Tender - Lapierre - Kosto Dandenault - Metropolit - d'Ags markov - komo hamrlik - gorges schneider - breezer goalie = ??? (we'll know a little later today If that's true, then GAHHHHHHHHHHHH! *throws something across room* WHY?!?! He was directly responsible for 2 goals last game, on plays that any peewee defenseman could play correctly. He's been doing this for months now, and there is NO indication he will improve. He doesn't deserve to be on the ice tonight. Period.
justreal
the problem with the 1st line is that Koivu needs less ice time while Tanguay should have more. How can you balance that? I Tanguay really is on a ***** line, poor him lets just let it be guys and hope for the best.
audrey1188
correction to the lineup I first posted: d'Ags out, Higgins in (lol I forgot him) Schneider with Gorges, Hamrlik with Breezer Price in net the lineup was confirmed 2 minutes ago by Martin McGuire

audrey1188
Price was excellent against Atlanta last time, he allowed only 1 goal, but the guys just couldnt score any so...hopefully they'll help him this time. We absolutely need the 1st goal tonight
ACCIDENT
If there is any time to build up any appreciable confidence it is now, we play Atlanta then Tampa, then Buffalo, we win all three straight, (Decisively). Thats more then enough momentum to carry us into the playoffs, we play Toronto one more time this season, I'd love to repay the favor.
adamkennelly
must win...not thrilled with the line-up - frankly but we'll see what happens...Stewart earned the right to continue to play from that Dallas game (was that our last win?) - I didn't agree w/ BG sitting him out vs Ott, T.O. and now this..I also think that Patches should have stayed up and D'Ags sent down but I understand that is not possible because of the moves they pulled on trade deadline day - another mistake in my mind. I am tired of this team not playing well - which has pretty much been the entire 2nd half of the season...
Hawker_mtl
I'm not thrilled with the lineup either. Good overall, but I believe we are making two big mistakes. OB should be in for Komi, and Halak should have been given another shot.

audrey1188
yes Price is in net. And by the way, there's no point of sending d'Agostini down. He isnt elligible to play in the AHL playoffs anyway, Pacioretty does.

4beforeorr
Nice DGT. Hopefully your 1st is a good luck charm. We're gonna need all the help we can get. If the entire team can all pull together,in the same direction, these lines could work well for us. We've gotta own the faceoff circle, skate and anticipate well. Our D have to do a good job moving the puck from our zone and hitting our forwards with low risk and clean passes. We need our forwards to challange with a strong forcheck, play solid defensively and take away shooting lanes. Goalie, make the saves u should be making. Sak, go to the net. Oh, and communicate out there boy's! GO HABS GO!!!!!
ChitownHabby
I feel that if Carey Price can get through the first 10 minutes without giving up a goal, the Habs will win. The first 10 is key, if he gives one up, especially a softy, the shoulders will drop, the boys will slump their heads and start skating in sand as usual while trying to "trap". It doesnt really matter if the Habs score first these days, it doesnt give that much momentum it seems, they just cant afford to have their buzz killed by a softy yet again. I hope Carey plays like Carey freakin' Price!

mtl_-amp-danny
If that's true, then GAHHHHHHHHHHHH! *throws something across room* WHY?!?! He was directly responsible for 2 goals last game, on plays that any peewee defenseman could play correctly. He's been doing this for months now, and there is NO indication he will improve. He doesn't deserve to be on the ice tonight. Period. I agree but who do we play in his place. Boullion? O'Byrne? Or bring up one of our promising rookie D men who don't ever get a mention or a look other than on draft day. Weber can't be anywhere near as bad as Komo is defensively and he can actually handle the puck, which Komo can't do at all. Man this guy is just playing horrible. When he touches the puck it's usually down the ice for an icing or coughed up as an unforced giveaway, and to think he made the All Star game. Maybe that was the worst thing the fans could have done for him, voting him as an all star as it obviously has messed with his head. As for our team line-up it really is irrelevant who plays with who. It's our goalie situation that matters. Good goaltending wins games. Not superstar first lines. We can score 4 goals and still lose 5-4 (a la Ottawa). We need and expect solid goaltending especially at this time of year. Price needs to start reacting to shots, not just dropping and hoping the puck hits him. If I was the coach I would tell him this: "Start using your reflexes man, anticipate where the play is going, where the shots are coming from and keep your head in the game at all times. And quit sulking after a goal is scored on you as you look like your best friend just died after most goals and you seem to always be looking for someone to blame when your scored on. Be competitive. Get a fire burning in your belly. If one gets by you make sure there isn't another one. Pump up your players, talk to them on the ice and show them you are in the frigging game and make it appear like you care. It's time to drop the innocent, quiet, shy little boy demeanur and start acting like a man and play with some intensity. You have to earn your reputation as a NHL goalie. What you did in Junior and the minor ranks don't count for anything at this level so step up and start playing like an NHL goalie. Give us 60 minutes (or more) of concentration and competitiveness. Your actions are contageous and the players in front of you will respond to it. Show them you want to win and be at the top of your game on every play". Hope Carey reads this just before game time. C'mon man you really have to bring it tonight and for the rest of the season.
