Hemsky83_09
Coach/GM Bob Gainey foresees few if any changes for tomorrow's game vs. the Buffalo Sabres. Price will be in goal; no word yet on the health of Andrei Kostitsyn, who missed last night's game with the flu. http://www.habsinsideout.com/
Dnjscott
Now that we have "squeaked" by Tampa Bay, the Buffalo game will be the test of the season. The Slugs played a good game vs. Toronto tonight, and Miller was pretty good at times for just coming back, but it's consecutive nights for them, so Miller might not be in, and we should be able to outlast them. In fact, we should dominate them.....but that's just my hopefulness talking. Realistically, a hockey game can go any which way. Even the Islanders shut out Detroit tonight, so you never know. But the Habs have started finding their stride again, so all they need to do is keep on keeping on. And hit the net, for crying out loud! The Sabres are definitely in a must-win in this one, so look for them to go all out. This one will NOT be easy even if we go up 4-0. In fact, that's a good strategy. Let's go up 4-0, preferably by the end of the 2nd period. Yeah....we should try that more often.... Predictions: Koivu, Kovalev and Tanguay combine for at least two goals. Laps and Lats get one. Markov with a couple of assists, and maybe a goal, too (he needs to shoot more). Price with lots of big saves....but something tells me a flukey goal gets by him again. It won't be his fault, but he will need to stay focused and not let it rattle him. Oh, and one more prediction....we all won't have any fingernails after this one. Not because I expect it to be close, but because we already chewed them off last game! Go Habs! Your fate is in your own hands now.

Guest
Certainly will be interesting to see if the Sabres come back with Miller tomorrow. My guess would be that Ruff uses him the rest of the way. I'm on the fence as to who i would want in there. Obviously Lalime is the weaker choice but its that old "French goaltender in Montreal factor" that always seems to bring out the reincarnation of Vezina everytime one of them sets foot on the ice against us. We might just be better off facing a Miller, who might not be at the top of his game just yet because of his injury time. Either way,,,,,we'll need our A game for sure once again as i'm certain Buffalo will be bringing theirs. I dont like to use the saying " play the whole 60 minutes" as i dont beleive any team is capable of doing just that however,,, if we lapse for short periods of time ( hopefully not too many or for long stretches), we'll need Price to hold the fort. P.S. I heard Rivet was injured tonight so that could be another hole in their lineup if he can't go tomorrow.

P.S. I heard Rivet was injured tonight so that could be another hole in their lineup if he can't go tomorrow. He looked pretty good against Toronto. They put 14 shots on him in the first, and he made a ton of good saves. They commented last night that he never had to "get" into position...he was set and square on every shot. Very little movement in his game...which can only be a good thing coming off an ankle. I doubt Ruff will use Lalime at all for teh rest of the way...Heck...if Miller hadn't gotten hurt...I bet he would have only used Lalime 2-3 times. They ride Miller like NJ & Van ride Marty & Lou. Regardless of who's in net...play like they did against Tampa (minus a few bad bounces and Ramo's effort) and I have no fears about tonight. Did I mention I HATE the Sabres...Even more than the Leafs. Go Habs Go!
jzun00
This game makes me very nervous. Price has not completely restored my confidence in his game and while our top line has looked awesome in both games since their assembly, they played against two 'slower' teams where Buffalo is certainly quicker than our team. I love what our checking line has done so there is hope of shutting down Buffalo's best. I wish the game was on t.v......stupid leafs game, serious who in their right mind would want to watch a leafs game anyway!!?? It is so nice to see our players have designated roles. I notice that our top line doesn't get a lot of 5 on 5 minutes (which doesn't particularly bother me) but it is nice to see them out for 75% of the pp time. It is also nice to see how hard our energy line has been working, man they have been causing problems for the opposition. All we need now is to get the defence righted and the goaltending to the point where you can sit down during a game and not be stressed out everytime the opposition has the puck in our zone. I just want to make one more comment. I like how Gainey is using Schnieder more as a pp specialist too.
audrey1188
i'm confident that price will have a good game and if ever he lets in a bad goal, at least this time I know the guys can score and wont give up. In the past weeks, they would have totally given up and thats what made me so nervous because it seemed that just 1 goal was enough to ruin their confidence but from what I saw in the past 2 games, I feel like they can produce more offensively and that if they are down by 2 goals, they still can come back in the game. My thoughts exactly,...when oh when do we get to watch a hockey game that we are in complete controll of from start to finish..?? I'd be willing to give up a cojonhe to be able to have a few pops, watch a habs game without : ......a.....sitting on the edge of my chair. ......b.....chewing off fingernails. ......c.....getting all red faced and blood-pressurey. ......d.....having to actually think it might be a good idea to hurl a beer bottle ( empty, of course ) at the TV. ......e.....coming to the realisation during the 2nd period intermission, that yes, once again, I made the foolish mistake of believing....... .......that a six pack would be enough for 3 periods of a Habs game, as I notice I have no more beer left in the fridge. ......f.....get more red faced and more blood pressurey because it's too late to rectify the beer situation. ......g.....start to wonder how the Leafs are doing.........................( gives head a shake.....gets over it. ) ............Well, you get the idea......once....just once........please...??????? duckshooter
I watched the buffalo game last night. After the game, Andy Frost commented that buffalo beat toronto so they will probably beat montreal too. Ya OK Frost...if toronto can't beat buffalo nobody can beat them.LOL I think I can here Andy praying for the habs to fail all the way from here. audrey1188
when I look at yesterday's stats of the Leafs vs Sabres, it's really because of Joseph that the Sabres won, c'mon 4 goals on 9 shots. Twice the number of turnovers, only 39% on faceoffs, only 24 shots...It's nothing really impressive and I wasnt impressed at all either when I watched the game so to me, this game is VERY accessible
