js2
I'd put this in another Emery thread but the boards keep giving me an error when trying to make a search. http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=272846 Former NHL goaltender Ray Emery's Hummer was impounded by the OPP this past weekend, reports the Ottawa Sun. According to the newspaper, Grenville County OPP pulled the vehicle over for speeding on Hwy. 416 on Sunday. The report went on to say, both the Hummer and Emery's license will be held for seven days. Police charged Emery under the stunt driving provisions of the Highway Traffic Act. Emery played in Russia's Kontinental Hockey League this past season. He went 22-8-0 with a 2.12 GAA with Atlant Mytischi. The team was knocked out of the playoffs earlier in March. Niflster
I wonder if people realise that this headline is about a traffic violation, only. And done in a manner that it's a huge deal. You mean, OMG OMG.. he was speeding? I wonder how long it has been since the last time I was speeding down a highway... Sure I don't like him per se, but if all the media can find on him for headlines, are fricking traffic violations, then please, don't write at all. It's silly at best lol. Then again, there seems to be a market for it....

There's been 4 replies and 2 of them weren't even about the traffic violation, while the other 2 posts weren't exactly "market". lol

"any" goaltender can have 1 good season as #1? better check your sources, because last I checked, you need TALENT to hack it as a #1 goalie and do well. period. He had one good season as #1 with the pre-collapse Ottawa Senators, back when they were Cup contenders with a good blue line, the best offensive line in the league, and secondary scoring. See: Osgood, Chris.

There's a big difference between speeding a little bit, as I'm sure we all do, and getting pulled over for stunt driving and having our cars impounded for 7 days. I mean, speeding tickets? Yup, I've had a few of those. My car impounded? Never.

tmash
Yeah, the only time I've ever heard of cars being impounded for speeding was when they were doing 180km/h and up. Ya, I think it's 50km/h or more over and you can get charged with racing (at least in Ontario). You don't get your car impounded for simply speeding.
