I could not find the lines posted anywhere yet, so I'll just assume they are about the same as saturday night :P

According to CBC, Markov and Schneider should both be good to play monday night.

Should Price feel better, he will probably be in net.

We will have to wait and see if Gainey adds AK46 back into the lineup.

GO HABS GO!!!!!

Last night before the game I predicted a close contest. I predicted a playoff style type game. Sorry for underestimating you boys

I'm calling myself out....but only for the opprotunity to say, if I'm going to be wrong that's the way I want to be wrong :D

BTW....There was one team looking like a playoff team last night ;)

I`m really surprised to read that we only have 12 points in our last 10.

Ok, how about 11 points in our last 6? 5-0-1. Hope this makes you feel better.

If & when we clinch a playoff spot, do we really want to finish higher than 7th? I'd rather play Washington than Jersey or Boston in the first round. Any thoughts?

Obviously making the playoffs is our first concern, so we still want to be winning as much as we can, regardless of where that puts us in the standings. Also, there's no guarantee that Washington will end up 2nd. The Devils could still push them to 3rd.

Actually, I fear Washington. I think Oveckin will singlehandedly get the Caps past the first round. That guy just seems to love scoring and to have so much desire to win that I wouldn't want to be the first team in his way.

That said, anything can happen in a 7 game series.

And that said, let's just get to a 7 game series. To heck with who we play, so long as we're still playing past Sunday.

GO HABS GO!!

Right you are, I just glanced at the standings & it's still too close to call. I thought Washington had clinched 2nd in the conference. I agree with you that we should keep playing at the same pace and face whoever happens to be there.

If we play the Devils then I have no hope of us advancing. Broduer elevates his game against us, it's scarey how good he is, it's terrifying how good he's against the Habs.

Boston would be a cake walk, and it will be for anyone that plays them. This is the most extreme case of over acheiving i've ever seen in my entire life. Boston is out the first round in 5 games, MAX 6. We'd destroy them. The only team they might get passed would be Florida.

Reasoning for that call....?

I was just thinking a little bit more about possible matchups, and trying to think how we would stack up against Washington. Now my knowledge of other teams' styles is a little limited, but is it safe to assume that the Caps' style is similar to ours? They seem to rely on an explosive offense. I don't know how well they play defensively, but it can't be much worse than our Habs. We could have an edge in goaltending as long as Price steps up. Is that really a matchup we want? As much as I'm liking our offense right now, I'd be pretty hesitant to say that it's on par with the Caps'...

Thank you Florida!! (beat Pitt today 4-2).

A Hab win over Ottawa tomorrow and they vault ahead of Pitt into 6th place.

4th place (Philly) likely out of reach, but the Habs can still catch Carolina.

I'd like that, setting up a Hab-Philly round 1. I want the Habs to get them back. Biron used up a lifetime's worth of play-off horseshoes last play-offs in that one series. And that Richards is one sneaky little so-and-so. I want them to be gone via the Habs this year.

Funny watching Carter in shoot-outs. 2nd in League goal scoring but can't score in a shoot-out (0 for 5 this season). They don't even use him most times.

GO HABS GO!!

Their offense is better than ours, but their defense is definitely worse than ours. Their goaltending is questionnable, and has always been since the 1st game of the season. Green is solid, but other than that...you can get in their zone so easily. Atlanta scored 4 goals against them today, that tells you a little bit about how their defense is. They're not a very physical team either and that is good for us as it seems that some of our guys get out of their game when it gets too rough.
