js2
1 game for initiating contact with Colton Orr during pregame and 5 games for a hit to the head of Blair Betts who has a fractured orbital bone as a result. http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=276631 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hGwrm3sGU8E
Innis_Mor
Probably a couple of those games were just for Coach Boudreau being such a dink following the game, extorting on how the check was completely legal, and Brashear should not be suspended for a single game. Goof.
FlHabsFan
Stupid move. You cant do this during the playoffs. Especially when the series is this tight. At this point, I think its 1 post season game and the first 5 regular season games after the way the Rangers have come back.

The Rags were always up, it's Washington who's been coming back from a 3-1 deficit, IIRC.
JHaul
I know that no one likes hits to the head, but with the way the rules are now, I don't see anything wrong with that hit. Might be disrespectful, but I can't see how it was deserving of a suspension unless they've changed the head blow rules already. It wasn't overly late and it seemed like a shoulder check to me. I suspect if his name was Sidney Crosby and not Donald Brashear, there'd be no supplementary discipline. None of the officials on the ice felt it deserved to be penalized either. I watched the game, it was a late hit, Betts did not have the puck and was going to skate for a change prior to Brashear shattering him and to me it seemed like a blatant elbow. Not to mention with how Brashear glanced back seemed like he shrugged it off, which in my opinion made it look intentional. Obviously this is only my opinion however it is suspect when a goon like Brashear levels the opposing teams best PK specialist. Unfortunately it cost New York far more than Washington; another reason I dislike goon players. That said, I have to agree with you on the mention of Sidney Crosby. You can expect Cory Perry to receive nothing for his hit, although it was not as significant as Brashear's.

The hit was about 1 - 1.5 seconds after the puck was gone. Watch the full speed replay.
