musicalhab
Gotta say that when Crosby netted that first goal to put Pits up 1-0 I thought they looked on a mission and were not going to be stopped, but Ovy and the caps are clearly going to make this a rough ride for the pens. teststory
It seems Malkin does not get recognized. He had the most points during the regular season and was leading the playoffs in points for a while too. I think he is bigger then both Crosby and Ovechkin. It should be Malkin vs Ovechkin lol. Crosby has been very good in the playoffs though.
teststory
It doesn't look good for the Pens. Crosby is the only one scoring at the moment.
Tankfist
Hat tricks for both Crosby and Ovechkin! Crosby's goals are scrappy close to the net goals while Ovie is ripping shot from further out. Funny how they both play such different styles and both end up with hat tricks at the end of the night.

babinator77
W-H-A-T A G-A-M-E! wow! beats anything the west can serve, for my taste anyway seriously! man, ovechkin is just ridiculous! that was one of the most exciting games i've watched all season. It seems Malkin does not get recognized. He had the most points during the regular season and was leading the playoffs in points for a while too. I think he is bigger then both Crosby and Ovechkin. Crosby has been very good in the playoffs though. i hate the way the cbc is dumping on malkin and worshipping crosby (but yes, he's playing very well). i think it was milbury who said last night that cutting malkin's ice time isn't going to help him get his game back and i agree. i want the caps to win so i don't mind if malkin doesn't perform well but i'm not going to rip the kid. he doesn't look bad out there, imho. MLSE_Mgmt_A_Disgrace
I found it difficult to get over Crosby's asking the refs to make an announcement to stop throwing hats on the ice after Ovie's hat trick... I bet if it was Mellon Arena we wouldn't have seen the same reaction.

I bet if it was Mellon Arena we wouldn't have seen the same reaction. I was just going to mention the same thing... for somebody who already has a reputation as a whiner, you'd think he'd have figured out when to keep his mouth shut instead of adding more fuel to the fire... As good as Crosby and Ovechkin are I think Malkin will probably be ahead of them both in points when all their careers are over. He just seems to be the most complete package. I guess Ovechkin and Crosby provide a little more energy and enthusiasm, but Malkin has more tools to work with I believe. Of course I guess he could be another joe Thornton, but I don't think he is as he has produced pretty decent points per game in the playoffs. leafs_rock_go_mccabe
I love how Don Cherry talks on Coach's Corner as if Ovechkin is actually watching. He was running a segment, shopwing how Ovechkin embellished a hit by one of the Pittsburgh players (Kunitz, perhaps) and fell to the ice grabbing his face. It was interesting because instead of running him into the ground, Don pretended like he was giving Ovechkin fatherly advice... Even Don wants to hop on the Ovechkin bandwagon now. leafs_rock_go_mccabe
Washington were so horrible last night. I have never seen a team more undeserving of making it to O/T. It was like every single one of their d-men turned into Mike Komisarek when it came to puck control and clearing the zone. Brutal, brutal, brutal. hockeychick018
I'm cheering for the Caps, but I hope this series goes 7 games so I'm not too upset that Pittsburgh won last night... Nice to see Evgeni Malkin interviewed by CBC after the game, I think that was the first time I've ever seen him interviewed in English... Why can't Greg Millen pronounce "Varlamov" correctly? (He keeps saying "Valarmov) It's really not that hard...

He will now travel with bodyguards "I'm gonna kill ovechkin & I don't care if I go to jail" was the message.Police investigating.
