GRETZKYANDGRAF
Steve Ludzik has reported the Anaheim Ducks have traded Chris Pronger to the Kings for Jack Johnson and the 5th overall pick in this years draft. http://my.thescore.com/nhlrumours/archive/...n-5th-pick.aspx I'm not seeing it anywhere else but...big news
SteenIsThaFuture
Wow this shows the Kings are serious about contending with their core. I thought they were taking Paajarvi, but this changes so much so fast.

Kubby31
Who do you think that big someone else is going to be? Heatley? Vinney, maybe?
j2c
Vinney, maybe? I think Vinny is ours...as per what he said when asked we are at the top of his list of teams. I know his NTC doesn't kick in until after but they will at least give him the respect of asking him where he wants to go after they promised he would retire in Tampa. That's when Vinny will probably say montreal is among the top on that list.
Kubby31
Second thought, maybe not. Rumours had maybe tampa/kings might be in situation together, but now that I think about it,tampa would have wanted johnson,I would think, for starters. I think Vinny is ours...as per what he said when asked we are at the top of his list of teams. I know his NTC doesn't kick in until after but they will at least give him the respect of asking him where he wants to go after they promised he would retire in Tampa. babinator77
i haven't seen this trade confirmed anywhere. in fact, murray has denied it per the globe and mail. even if anaheim wanted to get pronger off the books, why would la trade johnson and a first round draft pick for him? imho, pronger isn't nearly as effective as he once was. is the kings' future really now? DA_Champion
What a fabulous trade for the Anaheim Ducks. This is really the greatest trade I can think of in a long-time. Ab absolute victory.

ruuvimeisseli
that would have the most one sided trade in history. a top 5 pick and a great young blue liner for a vet all star, long term ouch for la
SteenIsThaFuture
that would have the most one sided trade in history. a top 5 pick and a great young blue liner for a vet all star, long term ouch for la It made no sense to me even if you don't consider the future value. The present value wouldn't justify the deal, what has LA shown to prove they can make a contenders move. They have the potential core but lets see some production first bfore taking such a gamble. Bastian_mtl
what has LA shown to prove they can make a contenders move. They have the potential core but lets see some production first bfore taking such a gamble. So.....only a team that did well last year can try to contend THIS year?? ....teams at the bottom of the standings last year can't make a big trade/gamble?? That's sometimes how teams get better, taking a chance.
