Tankfist
Please oh please Bob don't rush this kid up to the big club. We don't want another promising prospect to have their growth stunted.

moe181
I don't think that'll be a problem, both Louis and Bob seem to be in agreement about a 2 year period before considering bringing him up. Anyways, welcome to the habs!

squ1g33
finish your degree from Harvard first. Judging from your size, skill, and skating the 4 years out of the montreal limelite will be good fro you, nto to mention the accolades that will come with your education. Hell, you'll even be more educated than our GM. 2 years 200 pounds, and ill be very happy, hopefully he can grow an inch or two as well, anyway BEST OF LUCK. imagine if we drafted 6'2" guy to begin with, then there would be no worries.. Wasn't Lucic a 1st rounder for the Bruins ? Edit : Ah, no, saw it. 50th total, with Maxwell 49th. Things like that happen all the time. We can't really hold the scouts responsible for not being flawless though.

nikohab
From what I hear I like Louis Leblanc however going to harvard for 2 years may be a setback in regards to his hockey developement. Does any of you know if he will be playing hockey while studying at harvard?

risteenhuis
The fans were happy in the arena with the selection of the home town player. I hope for good things. But think that Schroeder will end up as a better NHL player even with his size. BG has said previously that our team drafts the best player available. Obviously late round gems can occur. But there were a couple of prospects higher ranked when our team selected the 18th pick. Schroeder and John Moore were both ranked higher then Leblanc. I have never seen or even heard of Louis Leblanc before he was drafted by Montreal. Maybe the fact that he played on the same high school team as Danny Kristo our scouts had a better understanding of the upside to our 18th pick. 2 years or 4 years in Harvard. Lets not rush this kid to the NHL.

HockeyMan86
oh god we needed to address a size issue in the center position i dont get why you guys are all so negative about the leblanc pick he seems like a solid hockey prospect.
utreder
I'm very happy with Leblanc. We're not the only team that passed on Schroeder, he wasn't particularly good in the WJC's.
SteenIsThaFuture
It is clearly not true that our team follows a BPA policy. Leblanc was not THAT much of a reach. It wasn't like the Habs took O reilly or Eakin. Maybe the Habs got a red flag from a 5'8 forward. Yes WE may think Jordan was the BPA, but Leblanc was a very solid prospect. I had him at 18 believe and many other rankings had him in the same ballpark.
