I like him better than White (I really don't get all the hype around White)

I like both guys, although I'll take White right now because of his size. Both guys are gritty and play in-your-face hockey, and they both show up on most nights, which can't be said about a lot of others. I think you need guys like this to win. That said, with the signings of Moen, Prust, and Armstrong, I don't see how to fit Dumont and White into the same line-up. The Habs are much more likely to carry Noke as a 14th forward than to sit Dumont in the pressbox all season. He'll be an early call-up if there's an injury on the 3rd/4th lines though.

Rumor has it (not mainstream media source on twitter) that Dumont has a plane ticket for Montreal booked for tomorrow. and that he'd make the trip with the team next week. If true we'll know for sure after 5 tomorrow. In any case, it would make sense to bring an extra forward considering it's a 5 games trip and that we have no extra forward considering Bourque's situation (and methinks Prust is pretty banged up too).

Finally. Been hoping he'd get called up for a few weeks now, though of course this is more as injury insurance than anything else.

Yup, hard to say whether he'll actually play. Still nice to know he's next in line on the depth chart. I'm sure being with the big club for a a couple weeks is nice, even if you don't suit up. I know it's nice on your wallet. -_-

Not to mention trading bus rides in the snow for charter flights towards the sunshine state ;)

Today's morning skate could be an indicator perhaps. Nokelainen is supposed to travel with the team to Boston.

Dumont has been very strong in Hamilton, especially of late - unfortunately another classic Bulldog call-up not much size but not afraid to hit and be hit, plays hard and well every game. I think he will be a good help if given some ice time. He has earned a look - best of luck to him!

Don't care about his size, TBH, he cannot be a worse fourth-line option than Ryan White as a goddang center. We need to find out what we have in Dumont, we need to give him some fourth-line minutes. I'd rather see what he can do than expose ourselves to White's next unnecessary and costly penalty...

i haven't minded White's play lately.

he hasn't put his team in jeopardy and has been moving his feet.

Curious to see how Dumont does.

I'd rathe Dumont over Nokie, white deserves to stay for now, he's been better. But he should know that Dumont is trying to take his spot. Competition never hurt anybody.

No question that Dumont should get a shot ahead of Nokelainen. I'd actually wonder whether Dumont will get into the line-up tomorrow, maybe to give a guy like Armstrong a break on a tough back-to-back.

Wasn't Prust hurting and questionable a few games ago? That was the first thing that occurred to me. I'd guess there's a reason for the insurance, if he's viewed as insurance.

The other possibility is that they thought he could help make the team better and wanted to give him a look, regardless of who's healthy.

I think he's really just there as insurance. I'd love to see him in against the Bruins in place of Armstrong, but I think Therrien said he was called up because the team didn't want to go on a long road trip without an extra forward, especially with the Bulldogs also on the road at the same time. He also noted Nokelainen was quite a ways away from returning, so that wasn't an option.
