um i do not know much about this guy but does anyone know what goalies he has trained so far?

He was Florida goalie coach last year, the Panthers were top two in save percentage the past couple of years despite the fact they allowed the most shots. This past season Tomas Vokoun was second in the NHL with a .926 save percentage while Craig Anderson was third at .924.

sounds good to me as long as that goalie coach doesnt tell him to play deep in net and play butterfly style and teaches price his original style i think it was hybrid?

According to multiple sources, Pierre Groulx has been hired as the new goalie coach for the Montreal Canadiens, replacing Roland Melanson. Groulx who has ties with new head coach Jacques Martin had been with the Florida Panthers organization for the past four seasons.

In his first two years with the Panthers, Groulx was the video coach before taking over as the teams goaltending coach in 2007.

Although Groulx may not be a household name, the work that he did with the Panthers is impressive. Prior to being hired with the Panthers in 2005, Groulx was the video coach of the Ottawa Senators. In April 2005, Groulx was a member of the coaching staff for Team Canada at the World Hockey Championships in Austria

Head coach: Martin

Assistant coach: Pearn pk/pp specialist

Goalie coach: Groulx

Assistant coach: Muller chearleader

So who is going to teach defense?

Isn't that one of Martin's areas?

He's not going to hire someone to take care of something he is confident in handling himself.

Martin is a defense-oriented coach. These people don't even know common information like this and they bash Gainey's choices.
