chrisjamessauve
So far, we know all 82 Habs games will be on RDS (HD) on TV, and CJAD 800 AM (English), CKAC 730 AM (French) on Radio. Let the speculation begin on which games will be on CBC and TSN! Wild guess: Opening night at Toronto is on CBC.

Lord how I hate the CBC and their Toronto Makem Laffs bias same goes for the Toronto Sports Network. TSN is bad but not as bad as CBC. We can only hope that CTV picks up the saturday games sometime in the future and put the CBC out of its misery.

They own TSN. It really wouldn't matter which network showed the NHL on Saturday nights, they would all be biased towards the Make-me Laffs. I don't agree with it though. Kubby31
As the league has extended NBC for another 2 yrs, they will be airing the Habs/Caps game to be held at the olympic stadium.

If memory serves, TSN actually carried substantially more Habs games than any other Canadian team last year (although many were against other Canadian teams or Boston). It's possible, though, that this was just because of the centennial and that the Habs were predicted to do so well last year and the Leafs were expected to flounder. With all the (undeserved IMHO) media hoopla going on about the Leafs' offseason this year we might see it even out more. Here's hoping that it doesn't though! The Leafs had the most games on TSN last season with 17 while the Canadiens had 15 games. The other four canadian teams had only 10 games each on TSN. I sure hope all the Wednesday Habs games will be on TSN again this season. I have heard and read that TSN2 will be used for more live NHL coverage and other live sports starting this fall. hwy19man
Does anybody actually know when the TV schedule comes out? My guess is Thursday, August 13. I say this because last year's TV schedule came out on Thursday, August 14, 2008. The CBC told me the date is not known.
I1IscottieI1I
CBC shows the habs games on saturday nights you just have to go on their site to watch the streem if you don't live in quebec lol
hwy19man
Let the speculation begin on which games will be on CBC and TSN! Wild guess: Opening night at Toronto is on CBC. Hey, good idea to start this thread! Montreal plays on 24 Saturdays, therefore ALL those games must be on HNIC regardless of the start times such as the 1900h Central (2000h eastern) game in Nashville on Nov. 14. Realistically, that might be the only game the CBC won't show. Additional games will be the Thursday opener (as you mentioned), the Super Bowl Sunday matinee, and possibly the extremely rare Friday night home game vs. the Bruins. That is a total of 26 games which is equal to last season's amount.
Bastian_mtl
hope they make a habs tv(like leafs tv) I've been hoping for that for years. Only thing is, they'd hafta (or should) offer it in Frenh, and English. I think every team should have a channel, then people could pay to watch only the teams they want, or they can get Center Ice to watch em all. Habsy1
Good news for Rogers digital cable subscribers that RDS HD is now available to customers. CBC can keep their widescreen upconverted garbage that they pass off as HD as far as I'm concerned. I wouldn't be surprised if the Friday December 4th game against the Bruins which marks the Habs official 100th birthday gets picked up by CBC. If not it would likely go to TSN as they wouldn't want this special occasion to be passed over by English television.
FirstStar
So many years of watching Hockey in french, I'm stick with RDS HD no matter who else airs the game. I just get upset every time I try to watch a CBC or even TSN game. Thank gawd fo RDS!

Habsy1
I just ordered RDS from rogers today, because it is my first year getting RDS I was wondering if RDS usually carries preseason habs games? Usually only 1 or 2. Not sure why they wouldn't air the entire preseason schedule. Surely it would get better ratings than most of the other stuff they show on RDS. Last year TSN aired a Canadiens preseason game against Detroit that RDS did not air and it drew like 500,000 or 600,000 viewers.... for a preseason game! I remember seeing the odd preseason game last year (2), I'm sure one of em was on RDS. I could be wrong, either way, if we're lucky we should see about 2 or 3 aired games.
