911fred
Goaltender Curtis Sanford has agreed to a two-way contract with the Montreal Canadians. He signs a 1 yr deal worth $600,000 or $105,000 in the AHL. Sanford spent the last few seasons with Vancouver. leafs_rock_go_mccabe
Depth signing. Looks like we know who's playing in Hamilton next season.
captaincharisma
We lost Denis as a UFA, so Sanford in Hamilton is a good fit. Better than Denis even.

911fred
well dont expect every signing to be a blockbuster. We've had lots of those this summer. Biggest one being Hal Gill
fourtrax
I added 'Rumor' to the title, because it's only been reported on hockeybuzz and I have yet to see it on TSN or Sportsnet. When we get confirmation from a reputable source, I'll delete 'Rumor' from the title.
AK-1
Andy Strickland's pretty much the only reliable guy on Hockeybuzz. Sanford's basically the 3rd stringer. And a pretty good one to boot. Nothing wrong with that. EDIT: Canoe says it's done. http://www.canoe.com/archives/sports/nouve...720-150140.html
frostyHAWK
As long as he's better than denis then i have no problem with him playing in hamilton.

Lynch_mtl
Interesting. I wonder how this affects Halak's future with the club. Perhaps this is a signing to clear the way for Halak+to be traded? Merely specualtion, and perhaps I am wrong, as we didn't resign Denis, but you never know... To be honest, I believe that Halak is a better back up than Sanford. When Price was injuried, Halak stood in and pulled some wins out of his (well, you know). When Luongo was hurt, Nucks hard a hard time finding a solid goalie. He's good for the AHL, unfortunately, he'll have to clear waivers.
2VP
This is hardly Canadiens news. He's a career minor leaguer who will play in Hamilton. Good for him if he gets a few games in the NHL. Congrats Curtis.

FirstStar
Lol the title of the topic was cut because it was too long. For a while I thought it was Joseph lol Lol, wouldn't that be something! I really, really, liked Cujo, he would make a good mentor for Price. Apparently, he's a really nice guy and well liked by his team mates. Those years with the Blues and the Oilers, wow! Rocket-1
I don't see this guy replacing Denis at all. I've seen him play in Vancouver and he is NHL caliber all day long. Theres no way he should play in the AHL for a full season.
habs1119
Could be that Bob has a planned trade in the works for Halak. There are a few cup contenders that need a solid backup that can steal a win or two and Halak fits the bill. Ya never know?
fourtrax
Free agency wouldn't be complete without one of Gainey's patented minor-league signings.
