The-Future-is-coming
This is a topic asking all you Habs fan out there how you decided to like the Canadiens. Here;s my story. I was 7 Years old flicking through the channels( I never liked hockey) when I noticed hockey was on. It was the Habs v.s The Pens. I watched the whole thing and really enjoyed! I remember going to school and talking about the game with my friends From that day forth I knew I would forever be a habs fan.

scottyg92
Well my dad was born and raised in montreal, however I really didnt pay much attention to hockey as a kid. But there was always a background respect for the team, and I did always enjoy it when he managed to get me or my brothers tickets to a game when we visited family in montreal. When my first year of Uni came around, I was bored in the common room one day, and found RDS playing a game, tuned in, and have been hooked ever since. jHABSxie12
Well at first my dad was already a habs fan to start with, but hasnt watched hockey since i was born(i guess) and im 13 now. so about 3-4 years ago, i played a NHL 08 demo on my Xbox 360 and i loved it. then i bought it and started playing with the Canadiens, since im from montreal, and from then on, the habs would forever be in my soul. mtl_-Habs4Life-_mtlc
I was 7 or 8 when I started watching hockey, and from the very start, the Habs were the only team it felt right to cheer for. My Dad has been a Habs fan since he was a kid, and he was the one who got me interested in hockey in the first place, so that likely had something to do with it. The other kids at school ridiculed me and tried to make me switch to the Canucks (Living in BC, everyone is a bandwagon fan), but even at that age, I didn't consider it. I'm a Habs fan and Canuck hater for life.

357908_1475251331
wow long story. i won't be insulted if you don't read it. my brother was a huge hawks fan, but as he had an operation as a 6 monther that withered up his right side and gave him huge perceptual handicaps, and had epilepsy, i thought he might be a little overboard rooting for the hawks. when he died i got back into hockey rooting for the home team, but learned to hate the hawks for going to their fists so quick and being so proud of it. people went cruel to max (my bro) real quick too. i often wonder if they know even a handicapped person can be productive without being induced with harshness. anyhow, when i gave up on the hawks i needed a new team. my dad and i took our one vacation alone to toronto and montreal. he had been to the sorbonne in paris when he was younger, and collected french stamps. montreal seemed like a great place to me, but on top of that i had a headache when we were at the remnants of the expo. he said, and i qoute,"c'mon." that's it. i'm comin' on-- as a habs fan ...lol
Lynch_mtl
Man, how I became a habs fan? Good question. I always liked hockey as a kid, and my favorite players were Saku Koivu and Eric Lindros, but mainly #88. So, after a while I became bored with hockey at a young age. My memory is a little fuzzy after that, as I remember the playoffs where we lost to Tampa and to Carolina and Montreal beating Boston in the playoffs back in 2004, but didn't follow hockey regularly at all...Anyways, I think my being a habs fan goes back to me wanting to play a nhl videogame before the start of the 2006-2007 season, as I had good memories of what it was like to play some of the older games back in the mid-nineties. After that, I became interested in real hockey, and since then have bled bleu blanc rouge. At least, that's what I think happend...
2VP
My dad is a Canadiens fan. I grew up watching them on Saturday nights. The thing that really took me over the edge was Danny Gallivan's voice and Ken Dryden's mask.

FirstStar
Born into a hockey family, my father went very far, he still has his c-form from MDG. Unfortunately, knee injuries cut his career short. I'm the youngest of 4 boys, my brothers were all huge Habs fans. I was basically born into it.
