DA_Champion
Tavares, Hedman, Duschene, Kane, Filatov, Hodgson, James van Riemsdyk are some of the possibilities. I'm tempted to say John Tavares, but the Islanders have made no effort to improve. If they sign Alex Tanguay that should really improve his chances, Sidney Crosby had Mario Lemieux for support, and Bobby Ryan had Getzlaf and Perry (lol). SteenIsThaFuture
JVR may not make the team most likely, be it for prodcution or cap issues. Based on how people vote, it will be Tavares or Filatov most likely.
DA_Champion
Based on how people vote, it will be Tavares or Filatov most likely. How do people vote? Traditional numbers, like points and shutouts? You didn't include John Tavares in your top 75 prospects. Either I'm missing something, or you made a mistake in either that post or this post. SteenIsThaFuture
How do people vote? Traditional numbers, like points and shutouts? Essetially yes, which is why two-way studs like Duchene and Hodgson get overlooked. Where a team finsihes in the standings/makes the playoffs will for some god unknown reasonplay a factor too. You didn't include John Tavares in your top 75 prospects. Either I'm missing something, or you made a mistake in either that post or this post. I didn't include any of the 09 class in my rankings, they haven't established themselves as NHL prospects. Tavares is going to start in the NHL probably anyways. Lynch_mtl
Hodgson looks pretty good, and Filatov played well while he was up in the nhl, but I think I'm going to go with Hedman. He'll probably get top line minutes on a team that's got some defensive issues. He's already shown he can play with the big boys back when he was playing in Sweden. Offensive punch and quality defensive play? Sounds good. Unless he gets injured, I bet Hedman wins it.
A-K-46
Tavares or Filitov
Rayzor123
Isn't it a bit too early? But I think Filatov has a good chance. 4 goals in 8 games in the NHL this year, and Cody Hodgson possibly as well. Maybe John Tavares if the Islanders improve but I don't think so. I think Filatov and Hodgson have a great chance though.

Stajan1
going to fly it solo and say that Evander Kane will be rookie of the year. the thrashers have had one sick make over and with this kid ready to lead them on i can't wait to see what this team can cook up. staal12_mtl
There is one player I don't think anyone has mentioned who I firmly believe will win the rookie of the year during the 2009-10 season. That is goaltender Simeon Varlamov of the Washington Capitals. He has taken over the number one role from Jose Theodore and is still regarded as a rookie. ruuvimeisseli
Max Pacioretty if he still qualifies has a rookie, MY guess Varlamov.
354353_1475251254
Well I would say Cody Hodgson cause he can do everything on the ice but since they mostly choose based on points, I'll go with Filatov...
Dintrox12
Hodgson is my choice though he has been battling a back injury. It is rare that a D man wins there have been only 2 in the last decade (Berard and Jackman) so hedman is unlikely.
FlHabsFan
Wouldnt mind seeing Hedman take it. But like you said, its harder for a Dman to take it. But he looked good when playing in a scrimmage here recently. Even scored a goal (between the legs back hand shot). And the dude is tall. He was towering over other people there. He could be another Chara if he bulks up a bit.
alzimutg
No love for Claude Giroux? He is ahead of JVR in the Flyers depth chart and is considered as a rookie, I think. Don't know who will win it (too soon), but the best candidates look like Tavares, Filatov, Hedman, Varlamov and Giroux.

bailey1
Gonna go with the boy from Vancouver...Cody. Tavares, I don't know. On a team that didn't have a player over 40 points last season...except for Streit.
