yes. :(

Stubbs says its a cut foot.

"Quick update from Toronto: Andrei Markov suffered a cut foot, slashed by the skate of goalie Carey Price on Toronto's third goal. He apparently didn't bus with his teammates to Buffalo, staying behind for examination and treatment.'

If we absolutely have to lose him for a few games, better be game 1 than game 78.

Argh! it will be hard to be able to work today while having my eyes on a reports as they get out. :(

I'm no medical expert but I can't see anyone missing more than 2 weeks due to a severe laceration.

If he would require surgery then it would either be to clean the wound deep under the surface or repair some tendons. If it's to repair tendons then he'll miss alot more action...

He's the rock of our team and the habs' success depends on his health.

Looks like Bob is gonna have to get creative. A trade involving S. Kostitsyn and others is gonna have to be put together for a top 2 forward who can move the puck and play the powerplay.

Good luck. :(

you can't replace Markov by obtaining a player in return for Sergei. The Andrei Markovs of this league are a dime a douzen.

The only temporary solution would be to bring up Webber.

Yeah... They must've meant NOT a dime a dozen. A serious injury to Markov would be devastating for our season. Someone would have to do a major job stepping up and I don't see anyone on the roster who could. There is no one in the organization even close to as good as Markov. Not Weber, not Subban, not Spacek, not anyone. And we don't have any assets that could fetch us someone almost as good in a trade.

We do have some assets, that have a potential of keeping us afloat before Markov returns -

Price, coaching, offense - in that order IMO.
