jlgib21
Thats 5 I don't think he was one of the faves thats for sure ...only 3 players with less ice time dags 10:32 moen 9:53 laraque 5:46 That would put him in the number 9 spot of the 12 forwards. He did pick it up a bit tonite. He must have got the message
flamesgal1
He did pick it up a bit tonite. He must have got the message I thought he played abit better tonight also..I am not sure if it was the first or second period he got in on the rush early and through some really nice heavy hits... he seemed to be more combative...he has to play that way to be succesful.. I Also like is how Mr Martins is not throwing these young kids to the wolves...Lats, Pacs, Obryne etc he is playing them in situations where they will succeed and grow....As much as I play on Lats he is still a young man in this game. vmachell
I'd rather him stay on the third line with Lapierre where he has no pressure of scoring and can learn from Lapierre's work ethic on the ice. I agree in principle. Plenty of guys out there have success without great speed that's not a problem. Maximise what you got big fella get angry get mean. Drop the gloves sometime it will mean alot. fourtrax
Thats 5 I didn't mean all at once. I meant that those 5 would be his top choices in OT. I don't think he was one of the faves thats for sure ...only 3 players with less ice time dags 10:32 moen 9:53 laraque 5:46 That would put him in the number 9 spot of the 12 forwards. Or maybe it means that Martin wanted to go to other players with a bit more speed to keep up with the faster pace of 4-on-4 play.
risteenhuis
Score a goal and everryone will be back on the bandwagon. I think the players are learning each other and the coach. So far all of the lines are spending far too much time in our zone. Calgary plays a physical and faster pace game. I think this will help our team. Heck I am not a Latendresse fan. However, in the few minutes of the Buffalo game that CBC covered there was a situation when Latendresse had to cover the point and then play D. Two years ago it would have been a goal for Buffalo. This year the player and shot were from the outside and Price made a fairly routine save. Latendresse did a good job defensively. Now if he can play a bit more physical, well too be honest the entire line of Lapierre and Moen need to play more physical good things will happen for this line. I agree with the upped defensive awareness. In the past two games, i find he has been reasonably invisible. Which, in his case, like a defensemen can be a good thing. IF he's invisible, its because he's not butchering D-zone coverage, getting caught up ice etc etc. He's playing a sound game, with a sprinkling of big hits. If he can put together a bit of visibility infront of the net (which we already know he can do) he will become a dependable second-line player. Heck, he was best with Koivu, it may be time to revisit the idea of playing him with our best play maker. This could help to wake up our 2nd line too? avsgirl621
Gui needs to play more like Moen. Use that big size and decent scoring touch to great some mayhem for the goalies. Run 'em over Gui !!

e209
Playing better and better, big guy, rage around the ice a star in the making. a star in the making how many more years are we gonna hear that. he's back to his usual self and the goal he scored was a gift. considering the house cleaning and the room made for him i expected alot more intensity focus and drive. though its only four games it seams nothing has changed
rypat19
Playing better and better, big guy, rage around the ice a star in the making. Star ??? Good player who takes a lot of shifts off for his lack of skill. He needs to always play hard and he just doesn't. I don't know if he will every be better than 2nd line on 7 or 8 seed. I like him alot but he seems to be inconsistent. Hope he can work and score lots of ugly goals for years to come
jlgib21
He should be put on the 1st line for 10-15 games and see what happens. His size would go well with Gomez and Gionta, and make the 2nd line stronger.Having 3 smallish player on the 1st line is kind of a joke imo

I guess that's why JM is trying Pacioretty with these guys but it ain't working out so far. Maybe it's worth a try nonetheless...
leafs_rock_go_mccabe
I would like to see Latendresse given a greater role with the club over the next few games. We're clearly struggling to find another top-6 winger, so why not thrust Latendresse into the role and see if he succeeds?

Mix up the lines might help Cammaleri is a pretty good centre maybe he might try a switch for a few games, let Lapierre move to wing on the first line. I think the intensity of Moen and Lapierre has had a positive impact on his game so I would prefer to see where he is at in 20-30 games before looking at that option. Moen has had success being the big guy on a small line if I recall correctly.
vmachell
Latendresse has better speed and anticipation of the play before, further he is one of their better defensive forwards. He's big enough to hit big guys hard and is doing so. He could score 30 goals and be plus 5 with 100 hits play pk and pp. That's star type numbers to my way of thinking. Will he do it, well I think so.

Moen Lapierre, and Latendress, is their most competent line thus far, but the first line needs beef and a physical element to succeed.
