QbGamer
I was hoping to see him get a break away all game... I wanted to see what kind of trick he would pull off... He was sooooo close to getting one, about 1-2 steps away ShortHanded... Im pretty sure he would pull off a sick sick move
jfk0202
I was hoping for a buy out or put him on waivers looking at your lineup in the off season. I can admit when I am wrong. Forget the pts and the passes...if this guy shows up and hits and digs like this when he is sick?????? WOW!!!! I WAS WRONG!!!!
ChiLla
I begin to understand why Martin is giving Metropolit regular PP time. Keep it up Glen, we're definitely a better team with him in the lineup.
wmstonebridge
Glenny Mo' what can i say? He is the team's MVP as of right now for sure. Never seen someone play their arse off like that with the flu. Can't wait to see what he does down the road and into the playoffs. Great decision by BG to keep this man. FanFromAB
Glennnnnnnnnnnnnnnnny Metro! What can you say bad about this guy! Team guy, character guy, perfect fit on our team! He's the X factor IMO!
King-Carey-31
This guy is probably the most important player on our team as of right now, he's a character guy who gives 110% and leaves it all on the ice. When he's not in the lineup everyone else seems to lose a step...he's kinda sorta irreplaceable right now and if we can keep a semi-healthy lineup until markov gets back I think this team can contend! Cheers for manning up, people. I was happy with the metro waiver signing because I liked what I saw of him in boston, but then it seemed like he missed a step last year. This year has really been a turn-around. The question is: how long can he keep it up? I mean I dont think anyone expects him to score 91 points (what he's on pace for) but is 50 out of the question? 40?
Innis_Mor
Habs Defeat NYI in OT -- Metropolit contributes (again) including: "Metropolit also picked up an assist on the second goal and it should be noted the Canadiens are 5-0 when he's in the lineup." CanadianMike
At least we are all admitting that we were wrong about this guy. I still remember when Uncle Bob signed him..my status on facebook wasn't very "nice" Keep it up little bald man...you are showing us all what a hockey player should do on that ice. (pretty sad that he is looking like what an Andrei Kostitsyn should out there!) ohh and I know it is early, but I called it for Streit and for Maxim last season..... but Metropolit will win the J Beauchamps award (4th star) this season! CanadianMike
Just a little reminder to everyone, we never signed this guy, we picked him up through waivers oops yeah when we claimed him off waivers. (wasn't it on trade deadline day though or right around there?) trying to remember what my status was that day.

Wayne-1
Cheers for manning up, people. actually, only jr and CanadianMike have really done so -- so, yeah, props to them... others have admitted they weren't supportive of Metropolit but I don't recall them saying so, or so often... At least we are all admitting that we were wrong about this guy. I still remember when Uncle Bob signed him..my status on facebook wasn't very "nice" not even close... search the archives for Metropolit's name and see how often he's among the first to be waived, bought out, traded -- which also has people asking why anyone would trade for him -- or replaced -- by Chipchura, who has improved but it's not even close... the number of people who said very negative things, repeatedly, about Metropolit far exceeds the number who have since admitted they were wrong in their assessment... besides which, some of us weren't wrong in the first place

tree62
Metro"s career has been all about chances. Not being drafted and a journeyman, coaches have balked at putting him in important spots. Boston did and he thrived. 110%, responsible and a deadly passer. Gainey knows that. Pat him on the back and he will respond. Plus, he's playing in Canada..not Toronto, but Canada. if he stays healthy(which he has his whole career) we are in for a treat. Ask the players, he's a guy you want on your line!

QbGamer
Na iv always been a fan of this guy... I remember hearing Pj Stock talk about him the day it happened... I was soo confused as i normally hear about the trades/new players and all of that right away. Anyways pj only spoke good things anout metro... I then saw him play, and noticed he has KOVY type hands out there... Just in a midgets body.. Great player, hopefully he feels better for tomorrows game, He was on the team bus today, and my buddy in pitsburg got his autograph. Aswell as many other players from the team... But i found it funny that he got metro's autograph

Wayne-1
"Metropolit is a waste of 1 million bucks and just filler... has to be better out there somewhere." -- unnamed member of this board... (JR, you said some very uncomplimentary things, but you get a pass because you've admitted your error ) "In 2003 Metropolit crossed the Atlantic to play in Helsinki with Jokerit for the 2003–04 season. In a brilliant first season, he scored the most points on the team, 50, with 15 goals and 35 assists, the fifth-highest total during the regular season. He scored six goals during seven playoff games that year, but Jokerit were eliminated in the quarterfinals. In the 2004–05 season Metropolit and Marko Jantunen were the team's best goal scorers during the regular season, both scoring 16 goals, and Metropolit scored the most points on the team with 31 assists, totalling 47 points; the eighth-highest total in the league. In the playoffs he scored five goals and six assists, including a 3-on-5 shorthanded goal against Ilves's Vesa Toskala in the quarterfinals. The team went on to win the silver medal. Metropolit became a very popular player with the Jokerit fans, who had a number of chants dedicated to him. He is remembered as a gifted playmaker, with one of his favorite spots, on the outside of the left faceoff circle in the offensive zone, being called "Metro's office" by TV commentators and fans, in honor of Wayne Gretzky's "office" behind the goal. He and Marko Jantunen formed a memorable duo on the penalty kill, scoring several short-handed goals. His player number in Jokerit was #50. After two years with Jokerit, Metropolit moved to Switzerland where he won the Nationalliga A championship with HC Lugano. He also led the league in scoring during the regular season." -- http://www.absoluteastronomy.com/topics/Gl...it#encyclopedia I wonder if Metropolit would have been given a shootout chance tonight... he's 0 for 2 lifetime... and why number 15 with the Habs? he wore 13 with Philadelphia and Boston... #15 has had a bad association for me because it was Rejean Houle's number and all I can think of when I think of him is missing wide open nets and his tenure as GM even Bobby Smith couldn't remove that stink...
