ZetPaul
I said I'd do it... This is an attempt to recuperate Flunky's thread on the media. The discussion on booing is omnipresent in there, so here's hoping we can transfer that much needed conversation in its right place. Now... FACE-OFF! leafs_rock_go_mccabe
I'll be the first... I have no problem with booing. I never booed Price during last year's post-season, but I was at game 3 and you can be sure I was booing the darn team.
sebchenier
I never boo our team. I scream encouragement or "Come on Guys pick it up!!!" but booing is counterproductive to helping your team perform. We would be a much better hockey market as fans, in my opinion, if we focused on getting our team to perform instead of reminding them of how disappointed we are in them. I boo cheap shots however. Whether one of our player cheap shots an opponent or if the opposing team's player cheap shots our player.
Kubby31
Boooooo to a disappointing early play-off exit. Boooooo to so many players slacking off last season. Yahhhhhhh to the new players/coach we have picked up... Yahhhhhhh to hopefully a positive, exciting hard working team showing up this season, here's to victory. Go Habs Go... Prokofievian
I won't boo the canadiens. The canadiens fans should reserve booing as a powerful weapon in our arsenal against other teams in the Bell Center. I was at a Habs game when Buffalo was in town this year, in March, I believe. It went to a shoot-out. Everytime it was Buffalo's turn, the boo's were deafening. Every time Carey made a stop(he made 5, which was awesome), or any time a Canadien was to shoot, the cheering was deafening.

leafs_rock_go_mccabe
If booing is counter-productive to a team's performance... Well, then you've got the wrong players playing for you.
FirstStar
I'm so sick of always hearing we are the hardest fans. Like we're the only fans who've ever booed their team. If memory serves me correctly, when the Washington fans realized that Pens were moving ahead and the caps season was over, they let em have it. When the nucks were eliminated, the fans booed and were calling for Luongo's head. What about the Buffalo fans, you think they didn't boo the Bills after 4 consecutive trips to the super bowl without winning once? If a four time loser doesn't get you booed, i don't know what will. They just like to make it seem worse in Montreal. When in reality, booing goes on everywhere. I almost forgot, what about soccer in Europe? Fans have literally gone after the refs on the field when they didn't like calls.
habs1119
how about we boo the other team everytime they touch the puck! We'll be so sick of booing no one will waste the boos on our own guys....unless they score on our net...then boo away birdies! (but only in that game)

BarbraT
I don't want to sound like a critic...but I will. I really don't like the team we are putting on the ice this year. I hated most of the guys before they became habs (Gill, Gomez, Mara) so why should I change the way I feel for them just because they put on a Habs Jersey. Plus, we lost Koivu...which still stings every time I think about it. It's going to be a weird Habs season without Koivu as Captain. Plus, we lost Tanguay, Higgins and Kovalev. BOOOOO Gainey, most of all!! HE's got to go!
mdines
This is how I think: Booooo Komisarek Booooo Lucic Whooot When Lucic beats up Komisarek about 10 times in 6 games on CBC this year. Funny how that works out.

I'll have no problem with the new players if they do well, but Gainey is so far gone in my mind there is no coming back. Pollock is probably rolling in his grave when it comes to our current GM. The problem is Gainey should have been gone sooner. Because he was given the reigns for this offseason he's managed to: Take on 3 players with ridiculous underserving contracts which are all 5 years long and we dont even know if they will play well together if not at all. Oh ya and they are all lil tiny polly pockets Rid ourselves of the second longest serving captain of the habs and really one of the best leaders in hockey Pass up on the player who our fans paraded on the streets to keep Sign Hal Gill for almost 3 million....I think im gonna vomit signed Spacek and Mara, ok... Like basically Gainey kamakazeed this team And I know people say "no last season the players had no passion a remodel was in order" and "Our team is much better" Ok well, this obviously isnt the team the fans wanted so Gainey BOOOOOOOOOOO! Thanks for wrecking hockey for the next 5 years of my life BOOOOOO I miss Koivu!!!He is supposed to be in a habs uni and nothing less. Like bob didnt even offer him squat. This guy sucks BOOOO! PS: I will gladly retract everything I said except the koivu parts if the habs win the cup next year anything less and BOOOOOO GAINEY BOOOOOOOOOOO! I do like Jaques Martin as coach tho:)
I1IscottieI1I
meh i don't know why you all miss koivu so much. sure he played with heart but in the end it all comes down to the fact with the team we had last year we where never gonna win a stanley cup. i don't miss koivu or kovalev and i'm happy with the changes bob made. BOOOOO Gainey, most of all!! HE's got to go! It's funny that your name is Hablover... I never particularly liked Gomez either, but he's a Hab now so I'll cheer for him and wish him the best (the better he does, the better the team does). Saku's been my favorite Hab since he took the "C", but I've been a fan of the Habs a lot Longer than I've been a fan of Saku. I've always and always will put the team before any individual player. I've witnessed some pretty bad Hab teams in my life and a cheered for a lot of players i didn't particularly like, but I've never jumped ship. Being a fan of the Habs means you cheer for the players playing for us no matter what... Meaning if a player you don't like becomes a Hab, you cheer for him as well. Like I said before, if the player does well, so will the team... And isn't that what matter's most, isn't that why we watch the games; to see the Habs succeed as a team? Being a loyal fan of the Canadiens means you'd rather cheer for a losing Habs team, than cheer for a winning rival.
xTybe_mtl
I boo the hab fans who have seemingly turned into leaf fans that care more about the individual players than the team.. its the end of the world! kovalev and koivu are gone! Its like all those leafie fans that still love sundin even after how much he screwed that franchise by not waiving his NTC and allowing them to get some SOLID young return for him. I love les canadiens but its the logo on the front, not the name on the back thats important!! If a player comes here to play, I'll love them! Once they leave, I could care less! Especially after all of the players who reportedly turned down offers to come to the habs in recent years... Anyone who signs here is good in my books, regardless of how i felt about them before. They WANT to be montreal canadiens, and that trumps any feelings I had about them before.

ewraras
I've never been one to boo the team or an individual player. In fact, quite the opposite is true - the worse they play, the quieter I get. I prefer to just grind my teeth and silently wince at poor efforts, and look ahead to the next game when I hope they play better. I don't really have a problem when the team is booed as a whole, they need to know that it's the fans they're playing for, and as Habs fans we expect nothing but the best effort from our players game in and game out. But I don't support the booing of an individual - nothing good ever comes from that.
CanadianMike
all these replies and no pic of Mike Komisarek yet? I am disappointed.
