BeanCountingHab
As I posted in the rumors section, it's circulating the net that he may be signing with a team in the Swedish Elite League, which would put an end to the above speculation. I wouldn't really blame him at this point. He's stuck it out for a while in the minors and an NHL career looks uncertain at best.
hatethosebruins
He can go, but can we have Klubertanz, and maybe Dawes back?
THEBIGGESTHABSFAN123
He can go, but can we have Klubertanz, and maybe Dawes back? I'd rather Engqvist than Klubertanz and maybe even Dawes.
BigTed3
Again, the Engqvist news is just a rumor at this point...
jennifer_rocket
If he ends up in Sweden, that's fine. If he ends up in Hamilton, that's fine. He's not really a "Can't miss" prospect or anything.

I really felt that he could be a solution at the big, gritty 4th line center. Quite disappointed of him...I think though we need to give him a last shot. With the new coaching and advising staff, he may thrive, who knows...

I think a lot of us were hoping he could be a shutdown center. My limited exposure to him as left me wanting though. He didn't really impress me in the Bulldogs game I watched last year either. Oh well, whatever will be... Will be.
ColRouleBleu
Andreas Engqvist headed to the KHL per @IgorEronko. Canadiens retain his NHL rights, but frees up a contract spot.

I'm sure we'll find another potential third line center somewhere in our pool of prospects.
31Careyprice
Engqvist is headed to the KHL on a 1 year deal, habs loose his rights on June 30, 2015. He is soft and a slow skater, but he was good on faceoffs and a solid two way game. Might have some NHL potential, at this point seems like a bust. Jbaker8787
Hopefully he goes over and finds his game then in a year or 2 we would have an extra asset just sitting there, but theres nothing to lose IMO.

Werzoth
Engqvist has 26 points (8G, 18A) in 36 games in the KHL... That's pretty surprising, he was awful last year.
honuhab
That's pretty surprising, he was awful last year. Not really. He's playing at home for alot more money than in Hamilton and the game is completely different. A 4th liner in the NHL can look alot better in the KHL.
