Larry-Launstein-Jr
Saturday is Crim Festival of Races time in my home area of Flint, Michigan - I'm participating in the 5k Walk. Please everyone wish me luck. There will be a world-class field for the running races. Past 10-mile champions include 1984 Olympic Marathon champion Joan Benoit Samuelson, and Boston Marathon champion Bill Rodgers. Matter of fact, Benoit Samuelson is giving a presentation today. I hope to see her and try to learn something from her.

Larry-Launstein-Jr
I got second again in my age group - 45 to 49 (I'm 48). I finished 77th overall with a time of 43:36. I was only a little more than a second behind my age group winner, who came in at 42:28 and was 50th overall. There were 1130 participants in the Crim 5k Walk. The winner finished with 35:01. I'm not that far off! I don't know if I'll get an award or not, but I have sent a request to see if I am getting one.

Larry-Launstein-Jr
I talked to the head of the Crim Festival of Races today, and have been informed that I'm entitled to a 2nd place award for my age group in the 5k Walk. I have already requested it. I'm so excited about all of this - and will continue to train and try to get even better. I'm even considering running at some point. This has been a good debut year for me, and I believe I have better days ahead.
