jofu
According to multiple sources including Rogers Sportsnet's Dan Murphy, the Canucks are signing Mathieu Schneider to a 1-year deal worth much less than his previous 5.75mil signed with the Ducks. If Canucks do get this done, it marks the first defenseman to play for the team that could efficiently transition the puck from the defensive blueline to the neutral zone into the offensive zone on offense. The defense last year had Ohlund, Salo, Mitchell, Bieksa, Edler and O'Brien. None of these are "puck-moving defenseman" so is this a good addition to the Canucks powerplay and overall? As well, just wondering, would you rather have Ohlund or Schneider on the Canadiens? Update: Roberto Luongo spoke out today <link removed> Thanks for contributing. JHaul
I don't know that we can call it "jumping ship" when we didn't offer him a contract. The man has a family to feed!
RSD
I don't know that we can call it "jumping ship" when we didn't offer him a contract. jofu
The Canadiens will miss Kovalev and Schneider on the powerplay.
SpecialboyMikey
How? We upgraded them in everyway! kovy kind of wrecks our pp, he skates around with itto much
amp73
If he has lots left can some one elaborate why he remains an UFA As for the Canadiens missing Schneider on the PP , it was time to move on regardless. If we were expecting a 40 yr to be a main component on the PP then there is something wrong
Rayzor123
Ohlund is the better D, if we're talking all-round. Schneider, IMO, is only good now for offense with his age and all. It's a good pick-up depending on how much he gets. I wonder who he'll play with on the point. Probably Bieksa...
FlHabsFan
he has lots left, look what he did for us last season, now if he didnt come we may not have jumped into the playoffs Indeed. 1 point would of meant 9th place last year and the panthers getting in. koreysecord1992
For the price I guess it's not so bad. Vancouver was busy picking up Erhoff from SJ also.
