Wayne-1
This week in the online Screening Room, we’ll be featuring Leslie McFarlane’s 1953 film, Here’s Hockey, in honour of Jean Beliveau’s birthday on August 31. In the film, Beliveau plays for the Quebec Aces, a Minor-League team. Featuring Jean Beliveau, this short film focuses on hockey from the inside out. Known as Canada's national pastime, this film demonstrates why hockey is such an exciting spectator sport. From east to west, the connection between fans and players is evident in the excited cries of "we've won!" From Pee-Wee to Bantam, from the Canadian Amateur Hockey Association to the big league pros, Here's Hockey! shows what it takes to make a great hockey player. http://www.nfb.ca/film/heres_hockey/?ec=en20090902
Larry-Launstein-Jr
They also spend time on the transition from Newsy Lalonde to Rocket Richard to Beliveau. Great video, and thanks for sharing. Also nice footage of Gordie Howe.
