Kubby31
I'm going to post something off topic here as it certainly does not warrant a new thread but did not know where else to post it,so I'll sneak it in here. Interesting to note that the league is trying out something new with camera angles on the ice...they have small cameras installed on the top of the goalies helmet & also the players helmets....different. roy_133
Other cities have tried to steal our hey hey hey goodbye, but it'll always be ours. I'm pretty sure it was actually the White Sox who started using it first, in the late 70's.
kiprusoffk
I'm pretty sure it was actually the White Sox who started using it first, in the late 70's. Yeah, they used to sing it to their own team LOL

Habs began using it mid 80's. I didn't know that though. I thought it was a Montreal thing.
SteenIsThaFuture
I'm pretty sure Ole Ole Ole originated in soccer. Also IMO I think the Yankees Roll Call is the best.
mortwinkler
Other cities have tried to steal our hey hey hey goodbye, but it'll always be ours. It was started in baseball and we actually ripped it off As for the Ole song, I love hearing it at away rinks mostly. But I also think the Ole song was also ripped off by us as I'm pretty sure it was used in soccer WAY before it was used in hockey.

roy_133
My 2nd favorite cheer is the Mets "Larry" chant Actually, mine too. I usually start to drool when I hear it, it's weird but I guess I've been conditioned like one of Pavlov's dogs because I know a home run is coming. That's true, prior to the Habs singing it I don't think a lot of people would have recognized it. I also read that it was used in bull fighting before soccer even. However, Montreal is top-two most European cities in North America (The other being Quebec City). Montreal was easily the first – by a long shot – to sing it on this continent. Habs fans are the only fans in North American major sports who sing at games and it's AWESOME. The same song is sang in every building in the NHL when the Habs roll in; I know because I go horse every time they come to Alberta as us Habs fans pack both buildings every year!! Incidentally, we also had fun in the past in Edmonton singing ABBA whenever Fernando Pisani was on the ice, and Baby Baluga when Raffi Torres was out there, but that's beside the point.... OLE, OLE, OLE is most definitely a HABS song!!!!

utreder
Absolutely nothing Montreal has can beat the Tomahawk Chop. IMO our chants are not that good. We definitely need to come up with a much more elaborate and aggressive one.
