Wayne-1
counting the bands that have been removed? how about Richard? as in Maurice, Henri, and all the first names...
Telly_39_s_1
I would figure Montreal since it's not just the Canadiens, but also the Maroons, Wanderers, Shamrocks, Victorias, MAAA, and there may be others I forgot.
Guest
Gotta be Montreal. I beleive its over 40 times when you count all the other teams from the city who have won the Cup. Richard would probably be 2nd, as both brothers combined are on there for around 20 times i beleive.
gracie12
how about Richard? as in Maurice, Henri, and all the first names... I was thinking the same thing - but I think "montreal" is the answer. Montreal, should be on there 42 times (habs, maroons, wanderers etc) if my calculations are correct. Between Maurice & Henri its on there 19 times, then you have to factor in the guys who's first names begin with richard - which surprisingly are only 3: Sevigney (1 cup) Matvichuk(1 cup), Smehlík (1 cup) so, "Richard" is only on there 22 times. (24 if you also count "richards"

Billy Smith the Islanders, Bobby Smith Habs etc... Hector 'Toe' Blake --- 11 times ( 1 as maroons player 2 as player with Habs, and 8 as Head coach Serge Savard -- 10 8 time as a player and a couple more as GM How about Jacques? jacques plante --6, Jacques Lemaire -- 8 as a player 3 more as a coach in NJ = 11, Jacques Laperriere -- 5 jacques demers 1 as coach ... 23 times

thefooligan5
Well if they list the teams as "The Toronto Maple Leafs" etc. the 'the' would definitely be the most often used word.
Rocket-1
Champions? I think champion is on there once lol at the top. The word "Montreal" is the most written and it's on the cup 40 times (24 times by the Canadiens, 4 times by the Montreal AAA, 4 times by the Montreal Wanderers, 4 times by the Montreal Victorias, 2 times by the Montreal Shamrocks, 2 times by the Montreal Maroons) Followed by "Jean Beliveau" (who beats the word "Toronto" single handly) with 17 times The word "Toronto" follow Jean by 1 with 16 (hard to believe but 13 times for the Leafs, 1 for the Toronto Arenas, Toronto St Pats and Toronto Blue Shirts)
