Guest
We made a few cuts this week but there's still decisions to be made. Anybody know when the final cuts will be anounced??? Are they taking everybody on this team bonding trip to T.O. ???
AK-1
Yes they are taking everybody, since the Bulldogs are still in Scotland.
Guest
Yes they are taking everybody, since the Bulldogs are still in Scotland. So final cuts wont be made until the Dogs return?? I was under the impression that the final roster was gonna be announced shortly after the Sabre game. I guess we'll all be left to speculate a little while longer. AK-1
Holy cow. I didn't expect that. I guess I was wrong after all and that they didn't want Sergei at the closed retreat. http://www.rds.ca/canadien/chroniques/283241.html
Guest
That is somewhat surprising news about SK. Looks like there will be no nonsense tolerated under JM and BG going forward. So 28 players are going on this retreat which means 5 more cuts to go. I know Chip is currently injured but this development does increase his chance of starting with the Habs. Either that or the Habs do intend on keeping 8 D for now,, which means Weber stays.
amp73
http://www.habsinsideout.com/ If I were to guess , these will be the remaining cuts at some point in time Chipchura, Ben Maxwell, Mathieu Carle, Tom Pyatt, Yannick Weber , Curtis Sanford or Gregory Stewart

I know he was waived ( never heard that he cleared but assume so). Is he counted in those 28 remaining players? P.S Your cuts leave the roster at 21 ( 2 below limit). Do you think were going with a short roster this year?
AK-1
Yeah, he's still with the team for precautionary measures, at least until the Dogs come back from Scotland.

Manatee-X
do d'ags, stewart and pacioretty have to clear waivers in order to be sent to hamilton? D'ags does have to clear waivers, Pacioretty does not, and I'm not sure about Stewart (I'd lean towards no?)
CanadianMike
do d'ags, stewart and pacioretty have to clear waivers in order to be sent to hamilton? I think only D'ags has to. (please correct me if I am wrong)
roy_133
I think only D'ags has to. (please correct me if I am wrong) Pacioretty definitely doesn't have to but I've heard people say that Stewart does so I'm not sure on him. babinator77
thanks guys. hmmmm...if stewart doesn't have to clear waivers i'm not sure what he's still doing with the club tbh. unless he had an oustanding outing against the sabres during the patches that were not televised... Guest
I'm pretty sure Stewart has not played enough games to have to clear waivers ( total of 21 + 2 playoff) however i'm also not sure about his age requirement.
Komprice
Dagostini and Stewart have to clear waivers. Pacioretty does not however. habsprospects.hockeyhq.net is a great site for this. Go to site then punch on Mtl Canadiens then player ....tells everything from salary to salary in Hamilton as well as waiver status.

adamkennelly
the waivers is a tough deal..Habs just signed Stewart and I assume he would be claimed - he can skate, and is a decent player for the role he fills at his salary..Burke would take him in a second..D'Ags - same deal..he would be claimed. leafs_rock_go_mccabe
Predictions on roster cuts: Yannick Weber Tom Pyatt Ben Maxwell Curtis Sanford Leaving us with a proper sized roster of 23. None of D'Agostini, Chipchura, or Stewart need to be cut since Sergei has been sent to Hamilton.

Anyone of those guys could fill a role for us (as call ups) if we run into injuries.
ruuvimeisseli
I think S.kostitsyn will play 10-20 ahl games and then be called up.

I agree and if I was a betting man I would bet the farm (if I had one) I can't see MTL lossing players on waivers except maybe Sanford who is not a prospect. The guys that do stay still have to prove there NHL caliber though.
DiiiRTY-Russell
im sorta surprised with the send down for SK. i figured with all the guys that left in the offseason that he would certainly make the big club this year. but i would agree that we will be back before too long. he's a good talent and we will need all the help we can get with the other teams in the east that have built possible powerhouses (Rangers, Senators, Flyers....etc.) im still very hopeful and staying positive that this team, with proper playing time together, could do some damage to the eastern conference.
