his injury summed up our season,

but what he brought to our club this year was amazing, a throw in in the Gomez trade he works his tail off would go through a wall for the team fast aggressive all the tools. his work in the Washington series was heroic

that would be awesome

Yep, I am going to be a huge proponent of getting his brother this summer. Cheap, reliable, physical. What's not to like about that? He should come relatively cheap ($1 - $2 million) and I think he could be relied on to play a top-six role if required. Perhaps he'd be more of a bottom line guy, but also capable of stepping in when necessary. I remember him having 20-some-odd goals with the Sedin twins in Vancouver one year. That's what I would love to have here. 20 goals and some darn size!

More players like the Pyatt brothers the better

06-07, 23 goals. 6 points in 12 playoff games as well.

I am not so sure Pyatt was just a throw in. I would suspect their was some due dilgence done before the trade was made.

I don't mean "throw-in" literally as in Rangers didn't want him and just gave him to us. I mean that he really wasn't a core part and had the Rangers given a similar prospect or draft pick instead I'm sure the trade would have gone through just fine.

Those are exciting numbers for someone with his size. He also seems willing to use the body and can drop the gloves if required. I know he went to Phoenix to avoid the spotlight given the situation regarding his fiancee, but perhaps he would be willing to come play with his brother, as family seems to be an integral support for him, based on his TSN interview earlier this post-season.

I've been re-watching the games from this past year and love watching this kid skate. He just has good, strong strides and is gone before you know it. But the best part is he knows where the net is.

Higgins out, Pyatt in. Good trade.

Shame about the huge cap hit for the makeweight in the deal :P

Agreed, I like Pyatt, I think that he will only get better from here on in. His confidence was growing stronger and stronger as the playoffs wore on! I would love to sign his brother and have them come into their own here.

I love Tom Pyatt. He is a great defensive forward with offensive skill when the time comes. His brother is quite similar. I love to see them both, but I will definitely take just Tom. He will end up being better than Higgy, and we got Gomez. Much as I didn't like to see Higgins leave, it was worth it.

What's his contract?

Pyatt is now signed, details to come but infor confirmed on main website: http://canadiens.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=...vid=DL|MTL|home

Interested to see for how much. I like the duration. 3rd and 4th line players' contracts need to be more modest than when Gainey was running the ship. I like Pyatt, but hope this deal is for somewhere around the $800,000 mark only, and not more. We need to be careful going forward with our cap dollars.

I'm in agreement with JR here.

It's nice to see Pyatt signed. I look forward to watching him play a full season.
