imdocrob
It's eazy to blame Price for our problems. What about our poor play in the defensive zone. Missed coverage, pushed arround, can't get the puck out. I can't put all the blame on Price or Halak. that still dpesn't excuse him for his lackluster play but yeah if the team played better in front of him then we wouldn't be having this conversation. I've just seen too many opposition goalies steal a game for their team and can;t recall the last time he has done that for us. Last night was a great time for it and he flopped again. Sad that a kid in his 3rd start has more shutouts than Carey.

When you look at it, Halak was drafted 271 in the draft Marc-Andre Fluery was drafted first by the pens Price was drafted 5th in the Sidney Crosby draft. There is no reason why Price cannot be better then halak, especially when your comparing a 9th rounder to a 1st rounder.

If you can't see that he had a big part in last nights loss then I feel sorry for you.

imdocrob
It had nothing to do with the rest of the team then? Read my quote and you will see that yes I do say the rest of the team didn't do their part but it wasn't like we were totally outplayed and dominated. What we needed last night was a goalie who didn't need to give up 2 of 3 soft goals. I think the fans on this forum need to realize that this is a team game and regardless of who is your favorite player, if they are not helping the team out then the team should come first and that player should be sitting so the better player at this point can play. Carey is not my favourite player by far. What we need last night was A coach who can coach during a game Scoring players who can score Checking players who can check. Some sort of emotion from anybody. A little heart & pride Oy yeah some good goaltending too.
CammyBaby--33-_mtlc
I hope Halak gets the start tonight. I hope that at least 1/2 the team shows up for the game. instead of sending plyayers to the bull dogs have them report to the bell centre cleaning staff at the the same wages as the cleaning staff of course. let them experience how some people have to work for miniscule wages compared to thier million dollar salary. if every canadian worker only showed up when they wanted to they would not have a job very long. this team does have the talant but only a few have the desire. Well said man! I've always wondered how somebody making millions of dollars, won't give their best effort, physically and mentally! These are grown man who will have their careers cut short because of the age factor, yet they simply take so much for granted.

He's not a stand up goalie that's for sure. I hate the shoulder shrugh In his defence it would be nice for some defence.
fobear
what about the rebounds whos fault is that? Halak is a rebound machine... and two pages in the GDT already a goalie debate . So sick of this. One of them has to go if only to shut-up this tired debate. From my point of view, it would seem difficult to get in a groove when you play 2 games then sit 2 then play 2 and so on. Hell, Luongo has played something like 19 in a row. One of them has to go (at this point I almost don't care who - just as long as this aggravating debate ends.. and soon) so they both have a shot to consistently play. Again, any team would be privileged to have either of these two goalies as a starter. "To put this in perspective, the league average in save percentage is .910. In order for Price to gain the majority of his wins, he has had to offer above average goaltending. His margin for error was slim and when he failed to balance on the high wire, he was open to criticism. A .915 save percentage is currently good to place 20th in the league. Halak on the other hand was allowed to navigate with a greater margin of error. He only needed to offer a save percentage of .865 to register his 5 victories. Vesa Toskala's save percentage on the season is .863. So any goaltender slightly more competent than Toskala MAY have registered a similar number of victories as Halak. Both goaltenders would have had to provide Hall of Fame type performances to avoid the majority of their losses." http://www.habseyesontheprize.com/2009/12/...s-november-2009 (an article from December but still relevant) "Panic in Montreal is generally followed by the rewriting OR ignoring of history. Even with Price's strong November this controversy is not over, it will continue to bubble just below the surface. Should Price struggle in January, the detractors who are silent right now will re-emerge with the same arguments, their memories will once again be wiped clean. While the starting goaltender in Montreal is one of the most heavily scrutinized positions in sports, the easiest may be the backup goaltender in Montreal. The backup's flaws are always concealed under the their baseball caps, their past transgressions completely ignored. This will never change." Great GDT btw

PA-USA-58
This is a very beatable team. 133, this is sarcasm, right (I'm a little slow sometimes)? They're all beatable . . . even by the last-place team. That said, it's not over until everyone in the east clinches a playoff spot. I just hate the thought of the Habs playing golf during the playoffs rather than playing hockey. I also hate the thought of our franchise playing Halak (and hoping that he wins) to simply fatten him up for market. Moves like that have previously bitten us in the butt. Live and learn? we cant afford to loose this We can't afford to lose him.
PA-USA-58
I don't think their situations are at all similar You're correct: their situations are not similar. That's the point. Outcomes tell the tale: Halak is better than Price . . . yet Price is the Habs "#1" goalie. Go figure. If I were Halak, I'd walk.
Kubby31
This is a very beatable team. Hemsky83_09
Chicago 4 Detroit 3 Final/OT I post this in here because it's one of the best games I've watched in a long time. I hope the Habs were watching, it was nothing but all out against each other. No one was taking a shift off, the just went back and forth, like two boxers just standing there and taking shots at each other. Talk about an energy filled game they have it and I want it on my Habs, play like those two teams just did and you'll win more then you lose! GO HABS GO Cheers
