He played well? I'm not going to pin anything on him but even on pucks he stopped he looked incredibly shaky, horrible rebound controls and a couple long shots almost squeaked through him. It's not a big deal, it happens but it was definitely a bad night for him even if you don't think any of the goals were that weak (one was a one timer but he fanned on it with his glove).

He was bad tonight, just like Carey was on Saturday so now it's time to move on.

but he had mailed it in at that point,

Goal #1: He was with the puck the whole time, but he couldn't make enough of an effort to freeze the puck and he watched it go in, watch the replay and notice how he moved from one side to another with it and even looks at it and attempts to glove it, in my opinion it could have been saved.

Goal #4: Lol hilarious but sad, yah it bounced but again he was right with it and had time to react, and he did but it didn't help. He saw the puck bounce and attempted to catch it but he missed it and it went right over his left leg.

Goal #6: It was a beauty, but Halak could have saved the wrist, he even touched it with his glove but he didn't put him self in front of the net, he just put his glove and it failed him by going off his glover and into the net.

That's my take on the 3 softies, last one may not be soft to some, but it was deffs saveable.

Idk what you consider a soft goal, but even after watching it twice i'm shocked you think they're all good and difficult-to-stop shots

Let's pretend for a second that Halak let in 3 soft goals ( )...

Rangers win 3-2.

This game was lost because the Habs did not respond when the Rangers upped their intensity. Their D got caught pinching, sleeping on the blue line, running into officials, and generally stinking up the joint.

The team lacked puck possession, commitment, heart, shots-on-goal, guidance from behind the bench...etc.

This is just getting way too dumb!

Our defence is just way too slow!! Our fastest D-man is MAB and he's not playing D for a reason. That shorthanded goal is what killed us and it was a result of our slow moving D!

(GILL, MARKOV, MARA, HAMRLIK, SPACEK, GORGES, O'BYRNE) Not a single fast skater among them!!!!!!!

"Speed kills"? Yes, the ops speed is killing us!!!!!

JG and BP fights and BGL sits on his butt! AGAIN! BP shouldn't be fighting! The guy was out forever with a wrist injury. All we need is for him to take a swing and hit Redden dead on the helmet to end BP's season. Why wasn't BGL ever sent onto the ice to take on Boyle or Varos??? Was JM afraid that they might go to the media and pull a Boogaard? Come on! Get this team friggin' motivated somehow! It's an embarrassment!

MMW, if they don't make any trades or get rid of JM soon this team will NOT make the playoffs!!!

Well I thought things were looking okay after the first period, but imagine my dismay when I checked the final score this morning. I guess I'm glad to see Plekanec and Cammalleri put up some points again, but they can put up all they want and they team won't win giving up 6 goals. Seems to be the story of the season: win a few and start looking good then lose a few a slip back to .500.

Did you only see the first?

I wish that JM would of sent BGL on the ice and take care of some of those guys last night especially Avery..Who cares what anybody says BP should not be fighting it should be Moen or BGL...and even OB if he would of been dress...I would rether see OB in the line up before Gill Spacek...And what is going on with our dmen they won't even take a shot on net except maybe Hamerlik...Come on JM wake up and smell the coffee before its too late

I wish I had... I took my boys to MSG to see the game last night and from the 1st intermission on had to hear that g*d-awful goal song 6 excruciating times ! And the shouts of "eff the Canadiens" and "eff Canada" all night long were a very nice gesture; thank you, Ranger fans... my eight and ten-year old boys really appreciated it... and this was in the Club section. Sad.

Note to Sean Avery: stop the whining and wry smile every time you get called for a penalty... you get away with MUCH more than you'll ever get called for. And if you wanted to fight Laraque, his FIRST name is Georges; you fought the wrong player... dope.

GO HABS GO !!!

I am getting sick of Price not stealing us games, we need a goalie that can actually steal us a game. Who cares that the rest of the team isnt playing, it is still Prices fault.

P.S. I know that Halak was in net, but this is a crack at all of the people on this forum that blame price when he is in net for the Habs losses. You win as a team and loose as a team. It is never only one persons fault.

I agree with you on that one...But it is unblievable how terrible we are on get trying to clear our zone and that is why our goalies are having a hard time better defense means better goaltending...That is why I don't fault our goalies...Our defense totally ----- We must have the slowest defense in the league

Game was a joke last night. Total disaster. Halak stunk and so did the rest of the habs. The only fun thing was watching Pouliot beat the crap out of that guy. Thank god we got Laraque to handle the fighting eh? rofl. What a waste of coin that guy is. I'd like to see just once, just once, Avery knocked out with a punch. God that would be good, I hate that guy. I was hoping Laraque could get his hands on him but no...of course not.

No practice today, I guess they did too well during the weekend <_<

Does seem a bit odd. Maybe Gainey and Martin are discussing trade possibilities or roster moves this dismal Monday. Maybe there's a lot going on between some players' ears because they probably expected a bag skate. Maybe the mental torture of not having a practice will have an effect when in fact it's clear they should be practicing something.

S.S.D.D. <_<

Mental torture is not enough. I really expected JM to go all out with a 90-minute puckless bag skating session until they know what it gives to play poorly like they did yesterday. Where's the punishment when there's a clear need for that?

Even if it meant hitting that piece of trash from behind and earning a suspension, I think it was the right time to do that. BTW, BGL did that to Steve Downie a few years back and it was just simply satisfying, especially against pests like that. I can't believe the coach who built his reputation from many places in the NHL still falls into the trap of not playing dirty just because we are the Montreal Canadiens... WAKE UP AND GEAR UP FOR WAR, FOR GOD'S SAKE!

If it was for me, I hope the Rangers fans who will get in MTL the next time we face them at home will get the welcome they deserve to show that we Habs fans won't take crap from anybody and that we can play dirtier on these t-w-a-t-s if any.

More importantly maybe the Molsons are discussing the fate of BG and JM!

Laraque is the only case. I haven't seen it happen to anyone else.

As for roster moves, I am pretty sure that Jacques can request them from Bob.

Of course, the GM and HC should always be communicating with each other, but at the end of the day each have their final says on their respective fields. JM can't call anyone up and BG doesn't set the lineup (no matter what some may say).

Obviously, Jacques can't call anyone up, but if he really thinks a player is not playing up to snuff, you're telling me he can't pick up the phone and ask Bob to recall, say, a d-man from the Bulldogs? To quote the immortal Keyshawn Johnson, come on, man! :P

He could of course, but I mean BG could think it's not necessary and say no and in the end all roster moves are his call no matter how many times JM pleads for a better defense core
