[old-time-Habs-fan]

Past Perfect

Halak has the cutting edge,

that breaks the ice from near the ledge,

and as we're hovering on the cusp,

the Price we pay is up to us.

But Hab we what it takes to win,

a cup, that lately, we're not in?

and is our legacy slightly lost,

in all the numbers, at what cost?

In Bob we trust, but trust wears thin,

when, oft, not sure what game we're in,

we really do not know the score,

or, if we're in, but still not sure.

When, in the middle of the pack,

there's always someone, at your back,

and though the front is yours to grasp,

you cannot win it on your past.
