V-hab
To the would-be GM’s trying to look into their crystal ball for next season’s team. Rumor from another site ( reliable source ) ,is now suggesting both AK and SK will not be part of the Canadiens starting the 10/11 season. AK with less than two minutes of ice time last game, and Darche and Maxwell called before SK . I would think with the next game at home if the same happens , less than 5 minutes for AK and no SK, just might add more truth to this rumor. The question is, what kind of realistic return could we expect in return for the Bros. K . . . ? From all that I have read, Marleau is not a option , and will not leave southern California. . . Phoenix maybe, but that is as far east from his family he will even consider. Three years ago this board was filled with posts of Marleau coming to Montreal and he rushed to resign with SJ. His ties to his family are much stronger than dollars.
juraj366habs
subban is with markov... cammy? gionta? jaro is rfa and i really doubt he will get much more than 3m. gionta or cammy are not player who can score 35/40 goals for season...they are good 20,25 goals player. We need super shooter like Marleau, Iginla, Kovy...I think the best option is Marleau, when sign not to be succesful with him, sign Iginla, Kovy is the last option... I know I was a doubter and believed our smurf’s were the wrong way to go. After very little coaxing from friends to give them a chance, I’m happy I did. I also, am more than happy with our snipers. I think if members would stop seeing only the dollars, they would see the improvement , regular season and post-season from what we lost over the summer. I now see our smurf’s as scrappy game winners that play as advertized. Will try again, Marleau- Not a option, Will not be leaving Southern California. $6.3 million age 30 Iginla- Has a NO MOVEMENT CLAUSE $7 million age 32 (will be 33 before next season) Kovalchuk – we can’t afford a $8 -$10 million contract age
V-hab
Started going through some of my last summer’s wish list, and found Ben Eager name, 26 – 6’2” and 220 lbs. shoots left and was first round #23 for Phoenix in 2002. This year he played 60 games with 7G-9a for 16 points his PIM 120. scouting report; ASSETS: Has the size and strength to play an up-and-down game from the wing. Thrives in getting opponents under their skin, and he also loves the rough going. Can also drop the gloves. FLAWS: Doesn't have the hands to evolve into a power forward. Will sometimes make bad decisions on the ice due to a lack of discipline. CAREER POTENTIAL: Agitating role player He played real big in the playoff’s against Vancouver last year. Should we lose Stewart to Chicago AHL we might look for a trade to get Eager, wonder what it might take ??? knowing the Bowman’s are the ones that you have deal with. Kid-Canada_mtl
Again if Pekka Rinne can get 3.4 million and be good but not great in the playoffs, Halak will get more since he has been fantastic. At minimum 4 million and I would wager something like 4.25, teams can dump an offer sheet on him 3-4.5 million and only have to give up a 1st and 3rd rounder, worth it if they consider him to be the true number #1 that they desire. jst-onge
Halak is a RFA qualify him he eligable for arbitration let him he has had one good season Price is a RFA qualify him These players will get a 10% rise. Metro 35 is out Pleks can be signed but not for over 5.5 he is not worth it. As for the rest Hamilton is stocked.
habby67
I have always liked how Seidenberg has played. I think he would be a good fit for the team and if I am not mistaken his stats for blocked shots are excellent...
Habcore
I have always liked how Seidenberg has played. I think he would be a good fit for the team and if I am not mistaken his stats for blocked shots are excellent... Dennis Seidenberg would be a great pick up. A few others defensmen that could be interesting fits would be, Kurtis Foster in TB, hes had a decent year and is big at 6-5 220lbs, also a Carlo Colaiacovo as a 5th or 6th dman that can move the puck effectively. Not a defensmen but a very unique player that could be an interesting free agent would be Zenon Konopka a 6-1 213lbs enforcer who believe it or not, is a face off ace with 63% winning percentage in the circle. He could effectively be used to protect our smaller forwards and take key face offs. Anyway just a few thoughts

future-canadian
if i was gm, in the summer i would look to add some muscle, trade the k bros, resign pleks, resign BOTH goalies, buyout laraque, trade spacek or hammer (its more realistic to trade spacek) - so i would do anything possible to get david backes... my trade would be S kostitysn, a kostitysn, 1st rounder 2010 for david backes, 2nd rounder 2010 - trade spacek to any team thats need cap and an extra dman... sry spaceman i love u, but its u or hammer and NOBODY will wants hammers 5.5 m - resign pleks (5), pouliot (1.5), laps (1), moore(1.5-2), pyatt (0.75), bergeron (1), price (2), halak (2.5) (sign both goalies 1 year deals and pick 1 in 2011 wen hammer, gill comes off of cap) -sign konopka 1.5 off UFA Backes - Peks- Cammy (13.5) Pouliot - Gomez- Gionta (13.8) Lapierre- Moore – Moen (4.5) Pyatt- Konopka- Bergeron (3.25) Markov- Obyrne (6.7) Hammer- Subban (6.4) Gill- gorges (3.3) Halak (2.5) Price (2) Total: 56.45 which includes laraques buyout i personally think this is very possible and id LOVE to see how this line up would work!!! plz give me ur thoughts
bikerbob7501
how about this? to mtl ryan clowe to sjs carey price to mtl whatever to lak hamrlik to mtl mark stuart 2nd round in 2011 to bos ak46 sk74 We do NOT want to send both of these guys to ANY team in our conference, let alone division, let alone BOSTON. These two have to potential to kill us playing for a team like Boston. This move would be very dangerous, MMW. My 2011 Habs would include both the brothers, but of course I say this without really knowing what's up with SK's attitude.

utreder
I see you put Marleau in a lot of your lineups. I don't know if I have faith in him away from San Jose. He wilts under pressure, remember what happened when they made him captain? Compared to playing in Montreal that was nothing. Also, there's no way we'd be able to sign Plekanec in addition to shelling out a large salary to Marleau. The defense needs to be addressed more than anything. I like the idea of getting Volchenkov. We desperately need a defenceman like him. If we could unload Spacek that would be great, but I don't think the Flyers would be willing to flip Timmonen, a defenceman who might not produce for a defenceman who in all likelihood won't produce. They need the puck moving capability he has. I'd make a pitch for Hartnell instead, lighten their salary constraints a smidgen and get us a big body for the top six. Brisebois
few moves id consider ak&sk for frolovs rights and a 3rd then sign frolov for liek 4.5 mill Why trade away AK and SK for the rights of an UFA? It's not like in the MLB where you get draft picks if you fail to sign him. The best argument besides money we have for Frolov is he could be playing with Cammy again. AK & SK are worth more than a 3rd rond pick. halak and pouliot for clowe San Jose doesn't need a goalie like Halak. They might need a d-man like Markov since Blake is coming off their books and isn't getting younger.
