mtl_-habsolutly25
he's a highly ranked prospect on Hockey's Future. Blues have lots of depth. Hopefully this guy pans out. got rid of a guy doing nothing for us Talent Analysis Palushaj boasts a good all-around game. He can snipe goals with his quick shooting, and his stickhandling and playmaking abilities are also strong. He doesn't mind physical play, willing to dig in the corners to win the puck. that's off Hockey's Future
gracie12
just heard it myself. Interesting move. He was relatively high on the blues depth chart - i remember being midly interested in him earlier in the year - although I'll admit I havent followed his recent development. From HF: Talent Analysis Palushaj boasts a good all-around game. He can snipe goals with his quick shooting, and his stickhandling and playmaking abilities are also strong. He doesn't mind physical play, willing to dig in the corners to win the puck. Future Scoring winger. Potentially higher ceiling than Dags, but unlikely to make the squad for at least another year. Possibly good future move. Lets see what else you got, Pierre...

fnveenie
Hmmm...from the sounds of it, we got rid of someone doing absolutely nothing, for someone who might do something. Sounds better than nothing. Lol. I look forward to seeing how this one works out.
SteenIsThaFuture
I really like this trade, I think Palushaj is a very solid prospect. I can't believe all it took is D'Ags to get him.
Lynch_mtl
I suppose anything is an improvement over the nothing D'ags was bringing each night, but I actually like the return. May turn out to be a solid trade.

Sounds better than nothing. Lol. I look forward to seeing how this one works out. Lol. Thats one way to look at it! I think the easiest way to break it down is this: Dags has good hockey sense but limited skills. As such he will almost certainly have a career in the NHL - perhaps as 4th liner, maybe as a second liner. Palushaj could possibly be a top 6 guy (maybe 1 or 2 years behind dags in terms of development) but may also never make the NHL. Its a calculated risk, but considering our bottom 6th depth, a good one, imho. I really like this trade, I think Palushaj is a very solid prospect. I can't believe all it took is D'Ags to get him. Well, like I said, I was quite interested in him earlier in the year (i did make up a suggestion including him and Oshie) but I havent followed his progress in the last little bit. Assuming hes' on par, or better - this could turn out to be a heck of a trade in the fairly near future. Best wishes, Dags!

You can't do much less than what D'ags was doing. And if Palushaj ends up being a bust, we can send him somewhere if need be. It's win-win. tmash
Sounds like a good trade if this guy is a fairly highly touted prospect. D'ags was a good shooter but I doubt he'll ever be a regular in the NHL, I just don't think he will ever round out his game.

SteenIsThaFuture
Who would you compare him too that was already in our system? Nobody in our system really "compares" to him, LeBlanc is a little better, but Palushaj is a little better than Kristo.

Bastian_mtl
Fine about D'Agostini leaving, but for another short guy? Good lord! Pathetic. Drafted in 07, and yet to make his NHL debut, whats that tell ya?! Ah, well, not expecting much today anyhow.
swimmerpuck
Good Luck, Matt D'Agostini!!! Go get your confidence back and then your game will follow. He came up here like gangbusters and then fizzled. How easy is it for an offensive player to develop skills in JM's trap system? This concerns me for as long as the Habs have this coach and mentality. The Habs have run and gun players who are only allowed to either run or gun, not both. I'd much rather we change philosophy (coaches) than players. Go get 'em, Dags!

koreysecord1992
Hmm...never heard of this prospect coming back our way, but hopefully he pans out. Either way, moving someone who clearly wasn't in the future plans for someone who may or may not find success in the NHL isn't such a bad deal. I wish D'Ags all the best in St. Louis. ChiLla
I like the deal, we're taking a gamble on a young prospect that just made it to the AHL. He's in good hands in Hamilton and D'Agostini wasn't part of the plan anymore.
