Hawker_mtl
I like the deal, we're taking a gamble on a young prospect that just made it to the AHL. He's in good hands in Hamilton and D'Agostini wasn't part of the plan anymore. Hard to argue with that. D'Agostini may still regain some of his form one day, but it wasn't going to be here. The emergence of players like White, Pyatt, and Desharnais were making it even more difficult. Like others though, I do wish D'Ags good luck. Seems like a good guy. CanadianMike
D'ago is a good kid, but really what has he done this season? exactly! good luck in St Louis.

AK-1
This is a kind of trade Gauthier should be making. Dumping players who aren't in plans (D'Ago, old vets like Metro, Mara, MAB) for good prospects and picks. I'm completely ecstatic we were able to get Palushaj for D'Ago. kristinoem7
Fine about D'Agostini leaving, but for another short guy? Good lord! Pathetic. Drafted in 07, and yet to make his NHL debut, whats that tell ya?! Ah, well, not expecting much today anyhow. Pretty harsh words, no? Sure the guy got drafted in 2007 but he was a kid. He went on to play two years of college hockey in Michigan and began his full AHL career this season. He's listed at 5'11" to 6'00" which is pretty much the same as D'Ags. Here's something to think about... Palushaj: (5'11"-6'00"-20 yrs old) Drafted in 2007, 44th pick overall. Played two years in Michigan and started his full AHL career in 2009. Subban: (6'00"-20 yrs old) Drafted in 2007, 43rd pick overall. Played two more years in the OHL for Belleville and started his AHL career in 2009. Played two NHL games due to mass injuries to the Habs. I would say Palushaj is right on track when it comes to timing and developing.Welcome aboard AP! leafs_rock_go_mccabe
Pretty happy with this move. D'Agostini was not in this team's plans. He was pushed off the roster this season by any number of players who came in and played better (Pyatt, White, Sergei K., Darche, Metropolit). Telly_39_s_1
You should see what the Hab haters are saying about this trade. Blah blah blah, salary dump, won't make the playoffs, plan the parade, rehabs are in the toilet, blah blah blah. You know what? Good on you, Gauthier. Great move trading a floater (albeit one with some potential) for a good prospect. TSN is going to drive me bonkers today...
leafs_rock_go_mccabe
And the Doug Janik Memorial Award goes to ... (drum roll) Aaron Palushaj! The day's not over yet, Weep! At least we didn't lose a draft choice... And we gained a younger player. Sounds like a win to me! (Note: My expectations are extremely low). Bungmangler
Good Luck, Matt D'Agostini!!! Go get your confidence back and then your game will follow. He came up here like gangbusters and then fizzled. How easy is it for an offensive player to develop skills in JM's trap system? This concerns me for as long as the Habs have this coach and mentality. The Habs have run and gun players who are only allowed to either run or gun, not both. I'd much rather we change philosophy (coaches) than players. Go get 'em, Dags! i would much rather trade coaches too haha it will be interesting to see if dags steps it up for his new team and is allowed to not play the trap system
fourtrax
We'll see. At least we didn't trade a prospect for an aging rental. I suppose that's a win in the Gauthey area.
QbGamer
Great trade. Dags wasnt playing well for our team, We couldnt put him in the AHL, as he would need to clear waivers, Hes wasting a spot on the roster having him sit in the press box each night.. Try to get something for him.. Im sure they had a few offers and went with this prospect.. All in All A+, even if this new payer never makes the team. We were going to lose dags for nothing

Im happy about the trade, although after seeing metros performance against the bruins i'd really like to keep him as long as the cap hit isn't big! thats just my opinion thou We'll see. AK-1
And the Doug Janik Memorial Award goes to ... (drum roll) Aaron Palushaj! hmm. We got a good prospect in return of D'Ags who has 22 points in his first pro season at the age of 20. Give him some time with Guy Boucher and he might blossom.
