no, mab will play as a forward on the 4th line...darche is sitting because we cant have both him and mab in the line...they opt to keep mab on the 4th line for his pp shot...they say 6.5 cause mab is playing as a forward...or maybe they're saying mab's defensive skills equal half a dman :P

Not gonna lie, that's what I first thought

Listening to this song, found the lyrics quite appropriate. Was just going to write "Ground control to Major Tom: we are serious here, you better win this game." but here's those whole beginning.

Ground control to Major Tom Ground control to Major Tom:

Take your protein pills and put your helmet on

Ground control to Major Tom: Commencing countdown engine's on

Check ig-nition and may God's love be with you

This is ground control to Major Tom, you've really made the grade!

And the papers want to know whose shirts you wear,

Now it's time to leave the capsule if you dare

This is Major Tom to ground con-trol, I'm stepping through the door

And I'm floating in the most peculiar way

And the stars look very difeerent today

For here am I sitting in a tin can, far above the world

Planet Earth is blue and there's nothing I can do

THIS IS IT! We dont need anyone to help us clinch, we r gonna do it ourselves tonight and beat this CAR team and get it over with!

GO HABS GO!!!!

gots this feeling we will come out flat again....when it counts they just dont show up :(

Lets at least try, even though you have a good point,to remain positive for tonight....................as tough as that sounds.

GO HABS!

I don't get all this negativity this morning... The team needs to know the fans are behind them.

If the fans are always negative how can we expect the team to be.

Do not have to look futher than Price....he'd know all about that. <_< ,sadly.

I like how positive everyone is, and i am too, but Carolina is going to be a really tough to win, because Carolina is playing like a team that has nothing to do but play hockey.

Well.....were gonna have to be better now, aren't we?

GO HABS GO

I think the effort put forth tonight will also show us what type of effort we will see in the playoffs, if we make it.

+1

Really?... Is everyone that afraid of playing the Laffs on Saturday

I am......and with great cause. <_<

The Habs better get their point tonight because as nauseating as it was to hope the Leafs won last night I don't think I can stomach rooting for the Flyers also.

I dont disagree with your sentiment, Weep, but I will say the same thing I said last year:

You ask: Why be positive - and the flipside is: Why be negative? We watch hockey because (presumably) we love it. Its a pleasure activity - otherwise we would just be doing something else we enjoy. If i have to sit there and be critical about everything, whats the point? Why not just go read a book instead & wait for the habs to be a dynasty again & then start watching.

Do I think we have any sort of chance of doing well in the playoffs? Probably not. But I will still try to be optimistic & say "well, if Gomez & Gionta play like they usually do in the playoffs, if Cammy, Pleks and Markov can finally elevate their games and if Halak can stand on his head...who knows?" You can say that its "burying my head in the sand" or whatever, but at the end of the day I want to enjoy watching my team. If they win, great. If not, well there's always next year.

Let me pose a question to you & all the fans who think being optimistic is silly: Has being critical and saying our team was crap for the better part of the last 15 years helped to make them better?

It doesnt really matter what the fan's outlook is - management will do their thing. In the meantime, enjoy the ride. I know that if I wasnt enjoying it, I would give hockey a rest and go find something I actually did.

I agree with the part in bold. It speaks to why I replied to FirstStar, who basically said that fan 'negativity' (I don't really buy it as a descriptor, but let's accept it for now) was making it hard for the poor little players to perform. THAT is what I find very difficult to stomach.

In general, I find the positive-negative binary a bit wearisome, because I actually don't consider myself negative at all. I'm a realist. I'm not someone who panics if the team loses one game. This year, my position is mediated by the sum total of the franchise's mediocrity over the past decade at least. A mediocre product has taught me to have mediocre expectations -- 8th place, first-round exit, whee! That, however, doesn't mean that I don't hope for the improbable: that our Montreal Canadiens go on a playoff tear and hoist the Stanley Cup in June. Of course every fan wants the Cup, every fan cheers the team on, and every fan will hold out a shred of hope while there is still time left on the clock in game four of a playoff series we're trailing 3-0.

Conversely, if you want to be what I would call unrealistically positive, be my guest! :) You enjoy hockey one way, I'll do it another. What irritates me is when people start to bash other fans for not always seeing the glass half-full. I have an opinion. I vocalize it. But I don't rag on other fans for wanting to believe the best. I just get very tired of people ragging on me for tempering my expectations to suit the reality of this team's performance over the past 15 years.

Playing good hockey brings praise but playing bad hockey brings criticism. Management for the last 15 years has made the bed the Habs sleep in. Besides that, if the Habs won all the time what would we post?

lol - I get the same bashing, only it is in the form of being "warned or suspended" from the forum. Now let me take it to a different notch that you put it; I not only see the glass half empty (b/c management has kept it this way) but actually see it leaking.

How about this, for the positive/negative discussion: If the Habs come out roaring, flying on their skates, hitting everything in sight, and showing the world that they mean business, even the realists in here won't be able to be anything but positive!

So come on, Habs, FORCE US TO BE POSITIVE!!!! Go out there and TAKE THIS GAME!!!!
