Hawker_mtl
As per Habs I/O (though unconfirmed), Price starts tonight and OB will indeed get a crack at the lineup, bumping MAB to the 4th line. http://www.faceoff.com/Price+expected+star...1015/story.html

Bear-Cove-Hab
MAB on the 4th line...so I'm guessing Sergei sits again? So Carbo drives Ryder out for personal reason, now it looks like Martin is doing the same for Sergei....serious, when does Guy Boucher get here? On this game, I'm fine with Price in net ( i would have been fine with Halak in net too). Its a higher risk, higher reward type of thing .Price COULD shine and totally stonewall the caps....or he could let in a soft goal in the first 10 minutes and totally deflate the team. Either way, I like the move for the 'shot-in-the-arm" effect. Maybe if the team sees their goalie fighting for his space it will motivate them further to fight back. Caps are beatable...but I don't put much trust in Martin at this point.
Kronixx
nice GDT i hope if they cant enter the caps zone stick handling the puck they at least try to dump and chase last game over and over they would get stopped at the caps blue line and they would not even try a dump and chase.... was beyond my understanding.... Haha sorry, it's just used everywhere on this board, but I suppose it would take a little while to get used to. Some others... AK = Andrei Kostitsyn (sometimes written AK46) SK = Sergei Kostitsyn (sometimes written SK74) JM = Jacques Martin And, when they were around a lot more BG = Bob Gainey BGL = Big Georges Laraque Nice GDT! TheBlaster_mtl
Still don't know why everyone likes MAB so much. The guy is a little flea out there, doesn't even look like a hockey player, trips over his own skates 3-4 times a game often leading to an odd man rush. So he has a hard shot. Woopty doo. I'm sure when a puck is going at the rate of speed it goes in the NHL, it doesn't matter that you shot is slightly harder than the average. Know who else has a good slapshot? Cammalleri, AK46, Gionta...if you want to throw someone who can't play defence back there on the PP, use one of them...not to mention our actual d-men like Markov and Spacek who CAN shoot the puck as well. ComradeRuskie
GO Habs GO! Also, good luck to Price, I hope that the team plays smart infront of him and doesn't let him down. They need to put a stop to this and win this time! Please not a Sens vs. Pens repeat. And then they win one in Washington and then the last one here. And we are in for round 2. Habs in 6 or Habs in 7. I am glad Carey is our goalie today, while he is there it will give Halak a break and a time to refocus. Because he still might be needed in later rounds. (Optimistic here.) babinator77
all the obvious weaknesses on our team have been discussed at length: forecheck, dzone coverage, dmen, physical play etc. etc. but there is one thing i want to see tonight and, imho, it was the difference between a win and a loss in the last game: if the habs get scored on first after another tremendous start to the game i want them to KEEP PLAYING. i don't want to see hunched shoulders and dejected faces on the bench. the habs know they can score on varlamov they just can't let their nerves get the better of them. they've all had a game at the bell now. no more excuses. they know what to expect. now it's time for them to go out and do us proud. GO HABS GO!!

Hawker_mtl
Nice. Any News on SK yet? Nothing yet, but for what it's worth, a Team 990 correspondent had this on their Twitter yesterday: "I was watching SK74 practice today and he was tearing it up, probably beat Halak on 75% of the shots he took" There is some potentially bad news though. Spacek apparently missed the morning skate and will be a game-time decision. Gomez also missed the skate.

Big +1. For me, this was the greatest thing about Game 1. I felt, going into it, we needed to get an early lead & maintain it against washington & yet there we were, 3rd period, down by a goal. The Vets on the team (specifically Gionta & Gomez) cameo out cool as cucumbers & kept playing there game - and wouldnt you know it, we tied it up. As bas as the last 2 games have been, they have shown us that for 4 out of 6 periods we can play with - or even be better than - the washington capitals. We MUST play as a team. I believe we can.
