MONTREAL -- The Montreal Canadiens signed centre Gabriel Dumont to a three-year deal Friday.

Dumont, 19, led the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League with 51 goals for the Drummondville Voltigeurs. Montreal's fifth-round pick in the 2009 draft, Dumont was third in the QMJHL with 93 points and was also named the league's best defensive forward.

The Canadiens also announced that goaltender Robert Mayer has been reassigned from the AHL's Hamilton Bulldogs to the Cincinnati Cyclones of the ECHL.

After being eliminated in the Q playoffs, Gabby then took the first flight to Abbottsford (B.C.) where he joined the B-Dogs for their second round series versus the Heat.

After being held pointless in his first AHL game, Gabby scored his first pro goal last night in a Hamilton victory.
