swimmerpuck Posted May 10, 2010 Report Share Posted May 10, 2010 I'll be very surprised if both Spacek and Gill are not in the lineup. The bigger question will be what can they contribute. I suspect Gorges, Hammer and Subban will take the bulk of the minutes. If Gill can take some PK (not Subban) minutes that would be great. Hopefully Spacek can chip in with some PP and ES minutes. It will be interesting to watch JM shuffle the D. And the Habs will have to backcheck like crazy. And Halak will have to be, well Halak. Head coach Jacques Martin said a decision will be made on Gill's availability following tonight's pregame warmup. Jaroslav Spacek is a game-time decision, and Martin has ruled out Andrei Markov tonight. Asked whether he might use seven defencemen should both Gill and Spacek be ready to go, the coach said, "Everything is possible." Markov skated, in equipment, before the team, as did fellow D Paul Mara Not only possible, probable. Its not like we haven't been running mostly 3 forward lines and in games 6 and 7, facing elimination, the bench will only get shorter. Dress 7 guys if both Spacek and gill are ready. Impossible ... there is question about Gill but Spacek is now OK because he needs separation from the team and if he skate in training he is healty for sure... Crazy how everyone, including myself was writing Gill off two weeks into the season up until the playoffs, now he is second to Halak as one of our keys to success!
