Habs Sign Kyle Klubertanz For One Year

Recommended Posts

just from the video...just what i took from it, he said hes an OFD so he likes to join the rush and play on the PP, hes not the biggest guy so sometimes he gets outplayed along the boards, his defensive game isnt that well.

but that just me, who knows what he is like, it just sounds like another MAB...

How so?

Listening to his interview on youtube.

His self-professed weakness? Jumping up on the play too much and getting caught out of position.

That being said, he mentioned he is trying to work on this. I haven't seen him play, but aslong as he doesn't do that deer in headlights imitation ala MAB, i'd be happy with him.

It's a concern to keep in mind, but he's 6" or 6"1 180-185lbs depending where you look. That's a big difference from a 5"8 MAB or however big he is. Defensive weakness is the standard for all offensive defensemen. We probably won't know the extent of it until we see him in action. I still like the signing.

Some Video on him.

By the way, was the interviewer Josh Georges? ;)

Someone referred to him as Subban's replacement on the Bulldogs team. He was drafted by San Jose with the reputation of being an offensive defenseman. He had an off year at U of Wisconsin which cost him a shot with the Sharks. Don't forget, Montreal traded Rivet to the Shark in exchange for some guy named Josh Gorges.

He had Subban like numbers and potential with the same kind of defensive liability issues. Maybe Montreal is hopping they can spin the same majic with this guy as they did with PK. Time will tell. Don't look for him to make the Habs line-up next year but I believe he was picked up to replace Subban in Hamilton ... for now.

Apparently he also has a mean streak..... that would be nice.

So, he kinda like a Pronger or a Komi, with offense...Not bad, that is if he pans out.

Although, they only gave his age, no his height nor weight.
