Mathradio
Are the Leafs compressing more players than the Habs do? They compressed Komisarek, they are on the verge of compressing Versteeg and Phaneuf; their prospects are compressed as well. I mean, we took the best years out of Komisarek... Guest
Just checked out their Cap numbers after their recent signings. With a 20 man roster their payroll now stands at 61+mill,,,which is approx. 2 mill over the limit. If it doesnt change,,,then they will be applying some of that 5 mill in bonus money they have committed,,,, over to next years Cap totals. And they still need to add a couple bodies if they want to go with a full roster. You want to know what the funny part of all this is????? Leaf fans still think they have a shot at signing Kovy. They are nowhere close to the cap. ChiLla
Not only do the Leafs suck, they also paid their players too much bonus money for doing so. Interesting story by Capgeek here: http://www.capgeek.com/news/20100702-nine-...nce-bonuses.php Thanks to 'performance' bonuses, the Maple Leafs may have to deal with a Cap reduction by about $1.4 million for the upcoming season. Their figures also dont include that 1.4 mill reduction penalty for bonus payouts from last year. If Geek includes Kadri's salary at 1.7 mill then that makes the Leafs numbers look even worse. They list them, but show a cap hit of 0. They've in effect, omitted a whole line of players from their totals ( only 9 forwards). It also doesnt reflect that 1.4 mill bonus penalty from last season. EHIW
I liked the Leafs jersey from last season (Apart from the Logo and the TML Patches), the new one just looks wrong, but its another waste of money for Leaf fans to get.

Either way they would then need to sign more forwards at probably close to,, or for more money then what these kids make. I guess we'll see.
