FirstStar
Flyer's moving Gagne? According to TSN Gagne has agreed to waive his NTC. Link:Gagne waives NTC Too bad we don't have the cap space... He is a lil injury prone, but can find the back of the net.
CanadianMike
I like Gagne, but would not take a chance on him. That said happy he will be leaving this team (one of very few players I actually like on this team (I CAN'T STAND)
Mathradio
It won't be pretty when that team will play the Leafs again. There will be several fights. "The Broad Street Bullies vs. the Bay Street Bullies"
Mathradio
These cheesepuffs didn't even seem that Esche returning to them as a possibility, even after SKA St. Petersburg traded him to HC Dinamo Minsk (I don't know who, or what SKA St. Petersburg got for Esche) and Minsk may be toying between signing him or Niemi. Also, very few Flyers fans actually knew that fans of their opponents nicknamed their team "cheesepuffs".

Mathradio
most probably because very few of those fans of opponents call the flyers cheesepuffs Seems to me that these fans in question are mostly Habs and Hawks fans. Anyway, these cheesepuffs could use Niemi or Esche provided that they could clear some cap space.

S-Bah
Pronger to miss camp...possibly season opener. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=330236 Philadelphia is doing the same thing most teams do the player-players that will see the most ice-time and get tired, sit out and do dry-land training until the season is here sort of like Hamrlik. That's my opinion from what I've seen over the last 4-5 decades.
Mathradio
Since they have passed up on Price, they think that Bobrovsky will somehow solve their problems in the net.
ColRouleBleu
NHLFlyers (twitter) From Flyers GM Paul Holmgren, Michael Leighton has a bulging disc in his lower back and is expected to be out of the lineup for one month. Also from Flyers GM Paul Holmgren: Ian Laperriere is out indefinitely because of post-concussion symptoms. Yet another victim. I have a feeling that we'll be seeing more of those popping up. David Booth of the Panthers comes to mind.

I have always enjoyed him as a tough-as-nails type of player. Great 4th line guy.
S-Bah
Philadelphia will be fighting all season for one of the playoff spots and if I get my wish they will trade Claude Giroux to Montreal because it just isn't right having great French-Canadien players unless they play for the Habs. Walrus26
The only thing I hate of the current incarnation of this team is their ineptitude in drafting/managing goalies. They are the Flyers. That's all the reason you need to despise them and all they stand for.
Mathradio
They are the Flyers. That's all the reason you need to despise them and all they stand for. Damn it! During my suspensions I went on the Flyers boards (with the same account I use to go on the Laffs boards) and I discovered that their emphasis on physical players cost them shots at signing goalies on the UFA market. Forever_Habs10
Jeff Carter has agreed to terms on an 11-year, $58 million contract extension with the Philadelphia Flyers. The cap hit starting next season will be $5.27 million per year. The Philadelphia Flyers continue to lock up key pieces of their organization as forward Jeff Carter has agreed to terms on a new 11-year, $58 million contract extension. The cap hit for Carter's new contract will be a reasonable $5.27 million starting next season. He was scheduled to become a restricted free agent on July 1st as he is in the final year of his deal that will see him earn $5.5 million this season. The contract breaks down as follows: Carter will earn $6 million next season then $6.25 in 2012-13 season, $6.5 in 2013-14 and $6.75 the year after that. He will then earn $7 million for two seasons before going back to $6.5 million for the 2016-17 season. He is set to earn $5 million in 2017-18, $3 million in 2019-20 and $2 million a year in his final two seasons of the deal. While Carter is not eligible for a 'no-trade' clause in his contract for the first year, he has a full 'no-trade' clause for years two through four. After that he has a modified clause for the remainder of the contract's duration. Earlier in the week the Flyers also signed forward Claude Giroux to a three-year, $11.25 million contract. The team is also reportedly working on a new deal for forward Ville Leino who is set to become an unrestricted free agent at season's end. A London, Ontario native, Carter is enjoying a solid start to the season with a team high eight goals to go along with six assists in 16 games. ColRouleBleu
Pretty good contract imo both for Carter and the Fryers. He's young so the 11 years arent an aberration and the cap hit is reasonable
