harry_mtl
The Isles added some toughness to their talented roster. It will be funny to watch them play this season. I see them in the playoff, they have now a real defense and streit isn't alone anymore.
DA_Champion
Having all these high draft picks is nice, but eventually they'll need to go above the cap floor if they want to compete.
Mathradio
The entire thing in the East is getting more and more volatile by the day. One day you'd see these cheesepuffs making it to the playoffs, and the next day these cheesepuffs are out of contention and the Islanders would make to the playoffs in their stead. S-Bah
The Isles will definitely have a little bit more firepower after this year's draft. I can see a line like the Trottier-Bossy-Gillies line, Tavares,Kabanov and Neiderreiter. That line could be overpowering in a few years.
Mathradio
Unless Kabanov becomes a headcase far worse than SK, in which case you could see the Islanders trade Kabanov before he hits his prime.
Kubby31
Doug Weight and Richard Park. THE ASSOCIATED PRESS UNIONDALE, N.Y. -- The New York Islanders have agreed to terms on a one-year contract with team captain Doug Weight. Weight and will be playing his 20th NHL season, and his third the Islanders. Last year, the 39-year-old centre had one goal and 16 assists in 36 games before he missed the rest of the season with a shoulder injury that required surgery. The Islanders made the announcement Tuesday. The four-time all-star comes into the season with 276 goals and 748 assists in 1,220 games with the New York Rangers, Edmonton Oilers, St. Louis Blues, Carolina Hurricanes, Anaheim Ducks and the Islanders. ruuvimeisseli
Maybe Tavares will get the C next season. Not until he can prove to be a leader and score 65+ points a season. The Islanders are going to be a good team in a few years, but this year I am predicting their getting a top 7 pick.

The Islanders are going to be a good team in a few years, but this year I am predicting their getting a top 7 pick. Probably, still not good enough this year. They'll eventually need to spend more in order to ice a competitive team, their internal Cap doesn't exactly help.
