Fanpuck33
I can't believe there isn't already a thread for tennis. Guess I'll have to start one. Immediately following the US win in the World Cup, I switched over to Wimbledon to find Isner and Mahut tied 27-27 in the fifth set. The match started on Tuesday and was suspended due to darkness tied 2 sets each after 3 hours. Well, they played today for 7 hours and got suspended again, with the 5th set tied 59-59. The 5th set alone is longer (both in terms of games and time) than any other match in tennis history. Both players have demolished the single match ace record. Actually, both players have broken the record for most combined aces by themselves. Just plain epic. Can't wait for the conclusion tomorrow. CANADIENS27
This means they are at equal strength really. Do you mean there wasn't a fix going on? It would have been smelled out by 40th game.
EHIW
Do you mean there wasn't a fix going on? It would have been smelled out by 40th game. There obviously wasn't, when in the final set, the only time a service game was broken, it won Isner the round, it wasn't bad, and throughout the match, both rarely dropped a service game. It might have been too difficult to accomplish. It's just that you don't see a fifth set lasting at least forty games. It turns out, it's happened before. Fanpuck33
Is Federer fighting a injury or is he done as the best in the world? He was very mediocre all tournament long and got knocked out quite early for him. Of course, I thought he was done after Nadal beat him on grass for the first time and he came back again. EHIW
Stopped following Wimbledon with any interest after Sharapova was knocked out, but Federer losing to Berdych doesn't actually seem a fluke as he beat Djokovic in straight sets, but Federer did win the Australian Open so its not as if he hasn't won anything this year.
