S-Bah
It's so good to see all the elite talent is signed up just the extensions for Gorges,Markov and Hamrlik. Then full speed ahead and on to the Stanley Cup.
ColRouleBleu
Captain material IMO. He's in the G-7 of Habs leadership. Martin has not made a final decision yet but he's considering a rotation for the A between Pleki, Cammy, Gomez and Gorges until Markov returns. mleblanc87
i am absolutly floored that pleky did not recieve at least an A..very disapointed, gill over pleky? come on....hopefully that will only last for the next year until gill is off the books
newton-mtl
gill over pleky? come on....hopefully that will only last for the next year until gill is off the books It is well known that Gill is respected in the locker room and even Pleks himself picked Gill as a candidate for captaincy. flamesgal1
Yes, Pleks could have worn an A or C, as could have Cammer they are as deserving as any. But they are younger and they are our main offensive weapons, their focus just needs to be scoring let the vets handle all the other things that come with an a or c it basically another character on the sweater. I just want Pleks to have an 80 or 90 point season and Cammer score 40 goals...
fourtrax
Pleks doesn't need to wear the 'A' to be a leader. To me, he's cut from exactly the same mold as Gionta: quiet, hard-working, but talented forwards who let their play do the talking and who can be trusted in any game situation. If Plekanec's wingers can be consistent this season, 80 points is not out of the question.
swimmerpuck
Captain material IMO. Definitely has some of the qualities already: 1st on the ice at practice, has called himself out for poor play, not a media hound (Gorges/Cammalleri), definitely has the skillset and work ethic combination I like to see associated with a captain. ColRouleBleu
the writers on the habs main site are hoping that "Plekanec can keep his steak alive" other than that funny typo and a slight error of one year in the lenght of pleki's contract (they say 5 years instead of 6), it's a good post game read http://canadiens.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=539349
madsprite18
Captain material IMO. Agreed - problem is he is a very quiet, self-effacing guy maybe too introspective to be captain - but he has always had an excellent attitude and work ethic - a very fine person and great hockey player - a superb role model for any player. I would have given it to him personally, no knock on Gionta. (and no one rocks a turtleneck like he does!)

Ianzy
I must say I am REALLY anxious to see the puck drop and the regular season get going.. will be a very interesting story line for me how Plekanec does. I don't think he will bounce back to 40 pts form, far from it. He just seems so determined I am wondering how much he can really do!.. I am also curious to see if his contract security and new found confidence might make it easier for him to break out of slumps.. he seems to have one long slump every season (like most plays i guess), but I am wondering if he will handle it better now! Season starts so soooooooon!.. too bad im going to miss opening night =\

Kubby31
please don't jinx us by mentioning the words "injury free"!!!!!!!!! I really don't think stating that we all wish and want our boys to have the best season possible,"injury free" would be getting off on the right foot...I don't see this as jinxing our team. Now,using the *s* word during a game is a different story.
