He knows what he has to do and will do it I don't know, I think Gionta tends to get a free pass from people because he's a little guy who plays with energy. I thought he was bad last night. Pretty much invisible until late in the third period. IMO forwards who had stronger games than Brian include AK, Plekanec, Eller, Boyd, Halpern, Lapierre, and even Gomez. It's not a big deal, because I'm pretty confident that Gionta will rebound, but it was definitely not the kind of performance you want from your newly minted captain in the first meaningful game of the new season.
