fansince1975
Earned a big chunk of the $1.5 million with his skills tonight. Plus Moen was a big reason that Pleks scored his goal. The goalie was cheating towards Moen and Pleks scored without looking at the net. Really nice goal that is only possible by Moen skating hard to the Flyers net. honuhab
Good job from Moen stepping up against the goons on the Flyers. It was just a matter of time before someone got hurt. Yep, was glad to have him out there tonight, plus he played a good intense game without taking any penalties. Late in the game I was thinking how it would have been nice to also have OB or Alex Henry out there to keep things from escalating. Was really pissed off to see that Laviolette stuck Shelly out in the last 2 minutes. What an A-hole coach. The Habs have nobody who can fight this guy and they weren't being the instigators on cheap hits. Putting the goon out there simply to try to intimidate is so pathetic and bush league. The Fetid Flyers as an organization clearly are overcompensating for their lack of size in other regions.

Haha, someone posted a report from CTV Montreal in the game day thread: Apparently Moen skated by Shelly and congratulated him on his PP time. This led to Shelly wacking him and taking a penalty. As for Laviolette, it doesn't surprised me he's such a good fit with the Flyers. He won a cup with Carolina by having his team essentially injure the most key player from every team they faced. wmarcello
I agree with everyone here about last night... Moen had an amazing game. I can't see this strong of a game coming from him consistently, but he really contributed to the win last night. Hopefully he can continue to put in a decent effort from the 3rd or 4th line. When I saw him back with AK and Gomez near the end of the game I cringed a bit, but it probably makes sense considering how physical the game was getting. Hopefully it's just temporary. wmarcello
Moen doesn't have the talent to play a top 6 role. Sure he can crash the net sometimes, but that's only one part of what the position calls for. Once the play moves to the boards or corners he's almost useless, and as for finding open areas to receive a pass, forget about it. If crashing the net was all that was needed to score goals, 4th liners across the league would be leading the league in scoring. Eller or Pouliot should EASILY be in the top 6 over Moen or Lapierre at this point.
ChiLla
Eller or Pouliot should EASILY be in the top 6 over Moen or Lapierre at this point. No question, Moen and Lapierre shouldn't be on any scoring line ever. I much rather have a solid third line of Laps-Halpern-Moen than using either of those guys on scoring lines. S-Bah
Travis Moen is playing good hockey and is always present if one of his linemates gets a rough ride from the opposition. He is the prototype playoff forward, defensively responsible and offensively, with his size and toughness he can stir it up with the opposition in a different manner than Lapierre. Both are good at what they do and are the type of players a team values and needs in the playoffs. wmarcello
I feel like Travis demonstrated again tonight why he shouldn't be in the top 6. I saw a couple or few instances where he would crash the net, a puck would somehow get loose, and a golden chance to score would be wasted because of Travis' poor hands and anticipation. Pouliot or Eller, now!
wmarcello
I do have to give Moen credit for his defensive play last night. With the puck loose at the side of Carey's net, Moen prevented a guaranteed goal by playing his man hard and tying him up (was it Kadri?). Great play. With the puck loose at the side of Carey's net, Moen prevented a guaranteed goal by playing his man hard and tying him up (was it Kadri?). Great play. Yes, it was Kadri. Saved a sure goal. If that was Cammy's or Gomez's check, the puck was in the net. Martin doing his best publicly not to say Gomez and Cammy are being "sentenced", but he's obviously trying to send them the message and get them working harder -- they've been assigned (together) to a line with Moen. Moen's working hard and playing fine (and I haven't always been a big fan of his in the past). The other two aren't working like Moen has; hopefully they "watch and learn". Nine1One
Moen keeps having the chances to score, like Pyatt is getting. But like its been said he has stone hands. (BTW I'm still a hockey newbie, so I'm learning whats good and whats not!)
hatethosebruins
Lets hope we don't see him up on the top 6 tonight. I can't stand seeing him with a good chance in the slot only to let the pass go right past him -.-

vegasrick
Moen had the least amount of ice time of all skaters (except Gomez who left the game with an injury) vs. the Senators. Maybe JM is figuring it out....finally.

I can't stand seeing him with a good chance in the slot only to let the pass go right past him -.- This. I much rather have Pacioretty or Pouliot up there and Moen in a checking role. That said, I have no problem throwing him back on the top lines against the bigger teams. He always seems to step up when needed.
jennifer_rocket
This. I much rather have Pacioretty or Pouliot up there and Moen in a checking role. That said, I have no problem throwing him back on the top lines against the bigger teams. He always seems to step up when needed. Agreed. If we need to find someone to fill in on that line (when Gomez returns) I think we should consider Pacioretty. We've very clearly decided to not play Dustin Boyd, so who cares if we send him to Hamilton or lose him on waivers? I like the idea of continuing to play Eller and Pouliot together, so Pacioretty getting called up makes sense to me. Pyatt can take a seat in the pressbox while Moen slides down into the bottom six. Habs_Hockey_Nutz
nope! Well it was just a practice playing with Plekanec and Cammalleri(wonder if he could do any better than Gomez eh?)... perhaps JM is just sending a message to A. Kostitsyn and come game day things will be "normal". Little shakeup with the Capatain to boot, playing with Pyatt and Pac-man and not with Plakenec.
